Ok, I downloaded 1.1.1 and have done some testing. As suggested I switched to ECO mode with keylock and tested it against the HIQ. I am using vinyl control here, which is important. So with 1.02 ECO was unusable quality wise to me. With 1.1.1 ECO actually sounds way better, especially at higher percentage differences while HIQ sounds like garbage at nearly all settings. Not sure how this happened, but as of now, I am actually really liking ECO. Everything sounds really crisp, especially when compared against HiQ and even against no key lock.

Then I went to Zplanes website and read this about the Soloist(which 1.1.1 uses for ECO mode):

    élastique SOLOIST

élastique SOLOIST is targeted at monophonic input signals. Thanks to this restriction, it offers incredible quality for this type of input. It allows pitch shifting with formant preservation to leave the sound's timbre/formant characteristics untouched, and has a transient copying feature to preserve crisp attacks. SOLOIST also allows to split the analysis and the synthesis part of the processing to implement a incredibly efficient real-time synthesis when the analysis is done offline.
    "

So does this mean that the output gets converted to monophonic signal when using ECO mode? I hope someone with NI can clear this up for us.

Anyone else experiencing the same results as me, or am I nuts?

i still have the beats cut in half, like every once in a while the beat is tripping or smth:)
it does sound a little better than before (1.0.2) but still... it's very annoying..
    anyone else having this issue?

What do you mean the beats are cut in half. Are you maybe getting audio dropouts?

I have the same issue, it sounds like the track is fluctuating like on vinyl.

I guess monophonic is related to the sound, not to mono/stereo.

i mean the beats are sometimes not fully played, because, like The Assistant just confirmed, the track is fluctuating and in order to catch up to the track tempo it just skips a fraction of some beat.
i am talking about the ECO time stretching option and this was also happening before the 1.1.1 update.
and it's not my latency to blame. i've tried different latencies.
i also tried different deck cache sizes and some of them behaved better (i think) but still i can't seem to escape this nightmare:)
i'm starting to suspect that the whole new zplane elastique 2.1 update hasn't really been implemented or somehow i got stuck with the old version:))
i'm only running the demo, but it should behave like the real thing, right?

You're getting that on the ECO setting? I tested again last night and I'm finding the ECO setting to be far clearer in sound than the HiQ. It was just the opposite in 1.0.2 for me, on that ECO was simply unusable. Now when I compare the two Eco sounds good while HiQ sounds like others say....like it is underwater.

yes, it is far clearer than hi-q, and it was before 1.1.1 also, but i still can't see any difference in keylock quality from the previous versions, for both eco and hi-q.
hi-q sounds like underwater, and eco just f*#ks up my beats and fluctuates my tempo.

teomor: Can you give some specs on your setup?

I did notice the beat problem with ECO last night. Was the first time I heard it, but it is not very often. I have to say that the HiQ still sounds better than 1.02, but still SUCKS big time. Seriously, NI, if keylock worked well in Traktor Scratch 3.4, why not just go back to what worked?

    my setup is:
    m-audio xponent (256 samples latency = 5.5ms)
    hp compaq nx6325
    amd turion 64 x2 @1.6ghz
    2gb ram
    7200 rpm hdd
    onboard (shared) graphics ati x1150
    15" 1400x1050 lcd
    windows vista sp1 32bit

it's just a shame that i've worked hard to learn traktor and make it suit my needs and managed to create a nice connection with the interface and now i realize i did it in vain, coz now i switched to ableton live (after previously trying and failing to do so) for good. and this is because the basic needs of a professional dj are not met by this nice, cool, piece of software traktor is:)

I have to say i have the same problem too . Keylocked the track sounds funny when tempo is changed ..... Its all about the algorythym of this system that stretches/compreses the sound ... I remeber early versions of Pioneer cdj had that problem but they resolved it . I remeber taking my CDJ to service and they updated my firmware. Maybe you traktor people should strip the cdj and see how its done properly ...

I am also disappointed with all the bugs ... but i guess its part of of the evolvement process ... problem is i earn my living on beats and cant afford crashes .

Hey Folks.. Thank GOD I found this thread!

I just got a new MacPro and have been using uncompressed AIFF files(for the first time), and the HiQ setting, which I usually use.

For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but the output of Traktor was very weird...lots and lots of micro tempo/pitch corrections.

I even went so far as to import an AIFF file into ProTools, panned both channels hard left, created a tone generator track, panned it hard right, then bounced the whole thing to disc.

The resultant file plays just fine in Quick Time.

But once I put it in Traktor, it was HORRIBLE! The sine wave sounded just like I thought the music was sounding.. lots and lots of micro tempo/pitch changes. If I were in the studio, I'd go looking for a bad digital clock source for sure!

So I decided to try a few different settings.... limiting the pitch fader to 8%, and limiting the Key Lock Range to +/- 30%, but no real change. The sine wave, as well as the music still sounded really bad.

I might add with Key Lock OFF, anything I did to the tempo still gave me a pretty good sine wave output, of course, adjusted pitch wise as with the tempo.

As soon as I engaged the Key Lock, it went crazy.

Then I tried changing the Quality from HiQ to ECO.

    MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

So, something is wrong with the HiQ setting for SURE. It's a mess.
