    Hi.
I have made myself dependent of the functionality of quite a lot of ramp envelopes. They deliver values going from 30-8500 (controlling frequency) over time going from 10-10.000 msec.

My problem is that if the values in two neighbouring breakpoints are close, the envelope just hangs, freezing the last value. It will never finish its cycle. The values need to be aprox. 3-4% different for the env to do a whole cycle.

What can I do to prevent this? Is it the high values that are causing it?

    Any help appreciated!

Without any look into your ensemble structure there is no answer possible. Please upload an example here.

    Of course!

    Here it is.
Snapshot one works. Snapshot two hangs at env stage three. I have to turn reaktor´s engine off and on to get past this.
    I also included a screenshot.

There seem to be two obvious options based on your description (there may be others):

#1 - Ensure that the values are at least 4% different

#2 - Build a custom ramp Env in core that doesn't have this problem

Personally, assuming that the problem is definately due to a limitation of the built-in ramp env, I'd go for option #2

    cheers

maybe! so change the knob's range to [0..1] (step width 1/8500) and multiply the envelope's output with 8500.
    change range.jpg

To get a proper knob's output picture use a numeric readout with multiplier.

    Solution x...

I tried to scale down to 0-1 and the up again, but the same thing happened. In this case, with the deadline coming close, I guess I´ll stick to colB´s excellent first suggestion:

I think nobody will notice, so don´t tell noone!
