Random loop maker

Hi chaps.

I am looking for a random loop maker, an ensamble where is is possible to add 100+ sounds and it will spit out random loops that can be recorded and later edited. It would be good if the randomness is applied to sample parameters too.

Any ideas?

Gene Genie

I can't upload to the User Library at the moment, but here's Gene Genie, a polyrhythmic loop generator. Feed it with 128 samples (or use the set already loaded in the version up on drop.io) and press play...

It assumes the main loop is 16 or 32 16ths long, but within that loop (and restarting on every downbeat) are 3 sub-loops, taking values from a big table of random numbers, and driving over-laying/polyrhythmic modulations of triggering, sample selection and filter cutoff.

Makes some quite nice, funky loops. There's a few notes in the macro properties if you want to know more about it, but if you play with loop lengths, start pos and sample select controls, it's quite good fun. Hope it works for you!
