I just bought an M-Audio Ozonic which runs fine with all my other apps but for some reason, it has been acting really kooky with Reaktor (G4 Powerbook, OS 10.3). For one thing, I have to set the latency really high in order to avoid severe crackling. But then, the higher I set it, the more I get these random intruding notes whenever I input any kind of MIDI. Like when I am trying to play a melody, a random, sustained note will just start playing for no reason. Anybody enounter similar problems?

    hmmm.

have you got the latest Ozonic drivers?

could you try just using the Ozonic as a MIDI keyboard with Reaktor and use the build in Apple audio card. do you still get random stuck notes?

btw, what happens when you use Reaktor as a plugin?

M-Audio have not got a good reputation with Macs. there stuff is definitely geared towards PCs.

That's the weird thing: I have no audio output issues when I go through the internal speakers or even through my iMic. It only happens with my Ozonic. In addition, the Ozonic doesn't seem to have issues with any of my other software--only Reaktor. Seems odd, no?

To answer your questions, I do have the latest Ozonic drivers, and the problem is even worse when I run Reaktor as a plug-in.

    Hi Humbug!

I experienced the same MIDI problem as you...I have been told by the M-Audio support that I was the only one to report this kind of problem!!! I have an iBook G4 mac os 10.3.9 1gigaRam....I experienced the problem with Reason and Ableton..Useless to say that the audio makes also crakling noise during recording! I am sure this is a Driver Problem !!!! I have tried all the driver available for the Ozonic but none of them worked porperly. Just for your info. I also have a M-Audio FW 410 the last drivers proposed on the website don't work at all (unwanted noise during recording). However I downloaded an old driver (v 1.2.2) and it worked fine then....This is a shame because each time I tried to explain the problem, I was considered as a stupid idiot Beginner and they make as if they don't understand the problem!!!! Sorry Humbug but I am glad to find someone who's got the same problem...even if I don't have the solution yet. But maybe if many of us experience the same prob. and write to the M-audio support they will perhaps work on it...keep posted cheers

i feel as though M-Audio are not that interested in supporting Macs.

did you know that since they have made an M-Audio version of Pro Tools there are rumours that Pro-Tools will in the future only be avaialble for the Windows enviroment. this means that M-Audio will only develop drivers for windows. since Avid now own M-Audio and Pro Tools, one or two people think that in the future they will stop their developments of Mac upgrades.

hmmm...that seems like a very dumb move, since im sure many big-time studios running pro-tools use it on macs. unless you onloy meant the m0audio/LE versions, and not the high-end HD systems.

i use an m-audio mobile-pre (on a PC, though). its drivers anre not the best, to be honest. ive been using the freeware ASIO4ALL drivers, although im not sure if they work for macs, since it seems most use coreaudio drivers now. im def. looking into a new firewire soundcard, and m-audio's firewire audiophile seems perfect, but im a little wary of them now. does anyone here use it? id imagine the qualitly has got to be somewhat better than on their superlow budget USB boxes...
