Does anyone know if Traktor 3 has support for 3rd party motorized jog wheels? The new S4 uses motorized jog wheels and I want to use the Rane Twelve with traktor

it looks like nobody knows that right now. I hope that I will soon have the opportunity to test this. otherwise, just ask rane's support if this possibility exists, or is planning something. i assume that it will not be possible because rane works exclusively with serato on this product ...

Hi. I have figured out how to use the Rane Twelve with Traktor Pro 3. But the caveat is that after a short period of continued use, the waveforms start behaving erratically, such as jogging or scrubbing uncontrollably. However feel free to try out the mappings I have used on your own setup (go to Settings//Edit>Preferences>Controller Manager:

    Rane Twelve Right Deck
Jog Turn: I/O In, Assignment Deck A, Mode Relative, Mapped to CH02.CC.006, Type Of Controller: Fader/Knob Interaction Mode Relative Rotary Sensitivity 13%

    Rane Twelve Left Deck
Jog Turn: I/O In, Assignment Deck B, Mode Relative, Mapped to CH01.CC.006, Type Of Controller: Fader/Knob Interaction Mode Relative Rotary Sensitivy 13%

    Rane Seventy-Two Mixer
(Crossfader) Position: I/O In, Assignment Global, Mode Direct, Mapped to CH16.CC.008
(Crossfader) Position: I/O Out, Assignment Global, Mode Output, Mapped to CH16.CC.008

Curve Adjust: I/O In, Assignment Global, Mode Direct, Mapped To CH16.CC.009

I think that should be all the tips to get you started. I don't think a full tutorial is necessary as most DJs already know what a controller does. The Jog Turns are mapped to the acrylic or vinyl spindle platters on the Rane Twelves' rotational positions. Scratching seems to work well but as stated the waveforms start acting sporadic. Maybe NI can figure out a fix for this issue.

I also tried using the Ranes with MIXXX and with Virtual DJ by trying to create my own mappings but I was unsuccessful. I got part of the way in VDJ 2020 but found that I could only scratch in one direction, not forwards-backwards like a real true scratch. Moving the platter forwards then backwards resulted in either a forwards-forwards scratch or backwards-backwards because I was unable to figure out how to create a Relative script mapping the way that Relative Mode does in Traktor.

    Good luck y'all.

i havent tried the new Traktor but i am guessing your best bet is to save up enough for Rane Twelve MK2's since they use control tone similar to vinyl DVS records in Hybrid Mode. the MK1's do not have Hybrid Mode and use strictly the MIDI signal. this may continue to present a performance problem unless Traktor has been greatly improved with the new update you are mentioning. but once my back heals i will try out the Traktor update and let you know.
