Rane Twelve MK2

big thanks to NI for allowing Rane Twelve MK2 to be compatible with Traktor. Two things are quite obvious, “Ground Hum: check grounding wire” warning sign, scroll knob not mapped to scroll browser tree, and no BPM displayed on the Rane Twelve screen. Hope to see scrolling for Browser Tree and BPM display included. If the “Ground Hum: check grounding wire” warning sign don’t effect the performence of Traktor I can turn it off in Preference. Thanks in advance.

 

Im wondering if there will be an official TSI file or if I should begin creating my own. I made mappings for the seventy and the seventy two due to a lack of official mappings and am wondering if that will be the case for the twelve mkii as well.

 

The Traktor 3.4.0 public beta already includes a TSI for deck A and B.

 

Am I missing it? Is it built in similar to the 2000's? I dont have anything working aside from the control tone.

 

You may have to manually go to the Controller Manager and click Add... > Rane > Twelve MK2.

 

Ordered a Rane Twelve mk2 ... will report back when it arrives!

 

By default SHIFT+Browse is mapped to scrolling through the Favourites.
With some mapping skills you can adapt the mapping so make SHIFT+Browse scroll in the tree and SHIFT+Load expand/collapse the tree nodes.

Drawing the BPM in the display is not possible in the MIDI based integration that TRAKTOR is using.

 

Thanks for responding. I have zero skills when it comes to midi mapping, only the basic one button one knob. In the past and present I’ve tried mapping multiple functions to a button or knob with no success including the Rane Twelve MK2.



My question is, 9 out of 10 of the essential mapping is done. Why leave out the last one?

I’m trying to get it to work. I have the MK2 all I get is a tone signal. When I import the TSI file it’s there but it shows all ports not Rane
I am using a Reloop elite mixer and when I try to set up the audio asio says not supported. Phone line. Can someone help me set this up properly. This is the reason I bought them and got rid of my phase and Reloop Rp8000 mK2.

 

are the in and out ports greyed out or are you able to choose these? I have no trouble with the Twelve MKII .tsi file over my Z2 USB hub. Did you also use the hub on your Reloop Elite?

btw: do you have your own mapping for your Reloop Elite? This is the Mixer i want, but i can't find a propper mapping so far...

 

I’m able to choose all ports
I don’t have a mapping for the Elite. I heard people had trouble adding modifiers to the mixer. I tried but couldn’t get it to work with a modifier. However I hear it can be done. There is one note on
djtechtools.com for it now. You have to run Serato in the background to get it to work. There’sa video on YouTube now for it.
I thought the TSI file in the MK2 have the mapping for Traktor.
Do I need a separate sound card like my Audio 8 to be able to run it through the Elite?

Hm, ok... just to be clear. You already installed the latest firmware and ASIO driver from reloop?

Firmware v1.06 (664.65 KB) (For Windows and macOS)
ASIO Driver 2.9.92.3 (4.29 MB) (Windows)

-Choose in Traktor your Elite Mixer as sound device. Check your signal routing (channels in & out in the Traktor preferences)
-Cinch cables on line-in on your mixer (not phono - this is important, also for a propper timecode signal and routing in traktor)
-All other in and out ports from other mappable devices are off.
-Plug the Twelves in to your USB hub from your Elite.
-Load the .tsi file directly from Traktor in the mapping preferences.

Then it should work.

Yes i know this note from djtechtools. It seems to be the only one so far. I would love to see more mappings for this mixer.

 

Yes I tried the one from dj tech tools but it doesn’t work for me for some reason. The TSI. I must be doing something wrong cause I’m very computer literate and I can’t believe this thing is kicking my ass. I’ll try what you said today and try it again. Would be nice if Traktor came out with a new mixer like the S11, Elite or the 72. With big pads. (I have an S8 but it’s too big). I’ll be on it all day. The Z2 is a bit out dated compared to the competition.

 

I did what you said to do. I only get sound out of channel 5/6. And it says high signal and doesn’t play correctly. Can’t get it to play out of the other channels in the Elite. I might have to call Rane and find out. Or send support a message cause their not in the U.S
