    Hello,

I noticed that Razor disappeared from Reaktor Player in all previously started projects. Then also Reaktor Player crashes when I try to reload Razor by drag'n'drop. Sometimes the GUI of Razor is shown a second or so before it crashes, sometimes not even the GUI comes up. If I start a new project it seems fine though. Cubase uses ~1 GB of memory so plenty left. CPU usage in those projects are very high though (~90%).

I've tried uninstalling and installing both Reaktor Player and Razor. Also tried to remove Reaktor Player completely from the Cubase project, save/open the project, and then tried loading a new instance of Reaktor Player+Razor. Didn't help. It doesn't crash older project versions (but they are too old to be useful).

Any idea how to work around this?

Same results in both Cubase 5.53 and 6.02 (both 32-bit versions on Windows 7 64-bit).
    DAW: Intel i7 920 @ 3.2 GHz with 6 GB of RAM.

See attached screenshots for the error messages.

i hope you have send the crashlog to NI?

if you get another one, can you save it as an rtf file and upload it here please.

the only thing i can suggest is that you increase the buffer size in Cubase's Audio settings.

    i can't really hlp becuase:
    1/i own a Mac
2/ i can't install Reaktor Player because i have the full version of Reaktor
    3/ i don't own or use Cubase.

I read on the official Steinberg Cubase-forum that this is a common problem which Native Instruments must fix. I hope update is coming out SOON, also for Reaktor Player! I bought Razor but haven't been able to use it.......

I've had quite a few similar crashes in Cubase 6 (32 bit) running several versions of Reaktor.

It's a serious issue as it alters my soundcard drivers from ASIO to ASIO full-duplex. I have to reboot and then when I load the project again ALL instances of Reaktor instrument tracks are EMPTY. This makes working very tense indeed, fortunately I have learned to name my tracks with the exact snapshot names so at least I can reload all the patches again.

Very, very irritating and stressful situation especially as I'm beginning to rely more on Reaktor's instruments like Prism and Razor.

here's the crash log which I am unable to convert to rtf as suggested.

I've just lodged this complain with Technical Support and attached the crash log. Can't do any more. I hope this is solved with the upcoming update to Reaktor. Issues like this with cubase have been hanging around for years!

I had a email reply back from Support today. They gave me a link to download a small .exe file that scans my system and produces several reports in a zip file that ends up in "Documents". I also answered a couple of basic questions-- that I'm running 32 bit Cubase (not 64bit) and enclosing my exact VSTplugin path.

These details were emailed back to them. Clearly this is an issue they want to solve.

    Just to let everyone know.

Don't hold your breath, I've been having this problem for months. It's not just Razor either - it's Reaktor.

    bump what :|

why don't you download Reaktor 5.6.1 - the update is available now Sept 1st - and then see if your problem is fixed or not.

What do you mean bump what?

I am a customer who purchased a product that has a problem, and it seems to me that this is the place where I report such problems? If this isn't the place where I report problems please tell me where I should.

I will download and install the update tonight.

yes, but please do it without making the same point on countless threads!

also, it has been stated that Cubase problems have hopefully been fixed with this update.

i hope the install goes well and that your problems are solved.

if you still have problems, you can report back in a calm manner as well as sending a report to tech support.

    thanks

Countless threads? You mean 3? lol

I updated my original thread, I then saw this thread which also relates, and then added something in the bugs thread. Nothing unreasonable there.

When I have invested a lot of money in NI software, then spend months working on projects that I then have to recreate from scratch because of a problem with NI software that has been happening for the last 5 months then of course I am not going to be all happy and calm.

I am angry, I have missed deadlines, I have LOST money because of Reaktor.

bumping more than one thread for the same answers is unreasonable as far as i am concerned.

i have actually spent quite a bit of time make sure the Beta tests give due consideration to Cubase users' issues with Reaktor.

anyway, i am sorry about your problems but it works best for everyone here on the forum if you are more calm.

to be honest, if i had issues with certain software and deadlines to keep, i would have thought of workarounds and made sure i met those deadlines.

anyway, i really hope the Cubase problems are fixed with this update, because i spent quite a bit of time - my free time - making sure the problems were being dealt with.

Bumping three threads that related specifically to the problem I am having is unreasonable? Get a grip.

The 5.6.1 update did not fix this problem. Back to NI. What do we need to do to get this problem addressed? I can provide logs, etc.

The only thing this update seemed to fix was the crackling audio which there was already an easy workaround for.

to clarify, are you talking about Razor here?

because bumping three threads is very confusing

i have asked you more questions elsewhere.

please try to use Razor with Cubase in 64 bit mode to see if you still get problems.

and yes, if you are getting crashlogs please send them to support

    thanks
