Re - Any news on the release date for V1.3 ?

Hello,

Any news on the update for V1.3 ?
I remember reading the Absynth forum 2 weeks ago , everyone was jumping on when the AB2 (AU) will be released, I think the Moderator was kind enuff to share the release date. Any advice on Kontakt V1.3 ??

Well.. according to the date that NI has posted on their website Kontakt will be released by tomorrow.. but I think we can all dismiss that knowing NI's reputation for releasing software by the deadline they impose on themselves.

Not to sound cynical or anything...

 

The moderators on this forum have been at great pains to point to the published schedule on the OSX release page, and to the fact that it's been changed 'when there's been a change' - the inference being that if it hasn't changed, it's accurate.

Those of us who have taken the quiet-but-testy approach to waiting for 1.3 will learn whether tomorrow is a day to praise moderators or finally lose our patience with them (and be vocal about it).

Dave, Ronny et al. will have to wear extra-strength flak jackets if this update doesn't materialise tomorrow.

 

I'm sure the moderators realize that revising the published update schedule the day it is to expire wouldn't be a very popular move. With that in mind I'm thinking they will come through by the end of the month as indicated.

 

I do know about the release schedule table on NI site.....well if the release doesnt materialize tomorrow, i believe its not too far off the date promised by NI on the schedule.

I have been living w/o Pro53,Kontakt and AB since i switched to my new Mac(only starts up w OSX) in Feb. I guess waiting for another couple of days would hurt too much, just hope NI could share some light on the possible release date.

 

The anticipation is just killing me!!! I must be checking the NI site about 3 times an hour. I for one will be feeling pretty low if the release is not tomorrow, but I've waited this long I guess I can wait some more, as it sounds like it may have some issues with DP4.1.

i predict:

it will not come out tomorrow...no chance.

it will not even be mentioned in the release table.

it will not come out until november 19th...

and they will change the upgrade price to $59.

 

My God! Were u guys born on this site yesterday?Put it together.NI has NEVER delivered on schedule.There way too busy and working the kinks out for the zillions of plaforms that Kontakt 1.3 will have to cater to.Just a tip: never take release date verbatum.Always add 15-30 days to the projected release date and that way u wont be dissapionted and u wont need to come to the forum,check,and complain 3 times a day.Cause thats what your gonna do...cause that what NI`s gonna do...and try to work with what u`ve got now cause its guaranteed that a new release is gonna be buggy and not work for half of us.Its ALWAYS like that.The nature of the beast.DOnt count so hard on this..Rich

 

That's all well and good to keep expectations in line, but the September update is already delayed from an August update, which was delayed from a July update.

Add to this that MachFive is finally shipping, and there is now a real GOOD and viable AU Sampler competing with Kontakt.

That's why everybody's sort of getting anxious.

What is this crap? Do we really have to pay to get update info? That's rediculous! If that is truly the case then I will switch to MACHFIVE in a heart beat. According to some users on OSXAudio.com, after a few bug fixes it should be near perfect. I can't even use my copy of Kontakt because I have chosen to bury OS9. It's just too unstable for my system. I guess I wasted my money on Kontakt.

I was being satirical, though it speaks volumes about
NI's relationship with Kontakt users that you found
my satire to be believable.

 

Just so used to hearing about updates being pushed forward and still having bugs when released that I'd believe just about anything right about now. Missed the emoticon there though;-) But really I would like to actually have a sampler I could actually use....... I blame myself though. I new it didn't run in OSX when I bought it but I also didn't know that the updates were so FUBAR with NI when I made the purchase.

Just visited the release schedule , the release of V1.3 has been changed to Oct .

Well, cant do much now, but do hope NI could give us a date to look forward to.
