Is it possible to sell this item if I have no use for it? I purchased the controller and software as a package and think it would be better suited for someone that can utilize the true power of this controller. But when you register the product and have it activated with the key can you sell it to someone with them still being able to get the full functionality out of it? Say, if they just possess the kore software?

If not that kind of defeats one of the purposes of having hardware in the fact that it should be transferable. I mean I understand it can be used for great things and I was hoping to get some use out of it but it just doesnt fit my setup as well as i would have hoped

from what I can tell, the controller isn't registered like the software, so I would assume you should be albe to sell it so someone with just the software.

But I wouldn't do it if I were you... I love the controller and think it's an great addition to the software.

I agree with a1mixman. Keep the controller it's worth having. I gave mine away and wish I hadn't. It would be great in use with my Maschine controller.

    Hey a1mixman,

I've seen a few of the Kore2 and Kore1 controllers go on eBay for around ~$100 bucks+. They also stipulate that the sale is just for the controller and no software.

    Here's a few more:

In light of this, I would hope that when they register their NI software, any controller (including Kore1 or 2) could be assigned?

As far as I am aware, it is registered, but in general you can transfer NI products to another user by contacting NI support.

One additional comment : if you bought your Kore controller together with Komplete (as many people probably have), then you have a problem. NI bundle the two products in such a way that it is "Kore 2" + "Komplete upgrade for Kore owners". If you want to subsequently sell Kore 2, you need to relinquish all licenses for Komplete as well.

I have just been through a painful process of selling Kore and then being told by the NI support team that I couldn't transfer the license, so I will presumably need to buy the thing back again from the other guy...

What was tied to Komplete was your Kore software license. As far as I know, the controller's not covered by any license agreement.

Hey thanks for all the input guys. I did end up posing the question to the NI registration dept and they informed me that it is a totally resell-able product. It did end up selling also. At this time for my usage and knowledge I was unable to invest the time into learning how to use the controller. Its a shame but I had to prioritize and try to save the space ( on my desk and in my head for now). I can always come back to it down the road.
