Ever since i got my AK1 there has been nothing but problems, with the control software and with the drivers/firmware.
The worst part? NI, pretending that there's nothing wrong with their crappy sound card and blaming everything else. "Are you sure you are using an USB 2.0 port?" etc., hehe the "troubleshooting guide" it's ridiculous really.

I think NI owe all AK1 users an enormous apology for making and selling such a crappy, buggy, sound card that no one seems to being able to use professionally, or amateur wise for that matter, and, doesn't seem to have been tested at all!
Stop blaming everything else and take some responsibility NI! At least admit that you are having huge problems with your product, and maybe you will win back SOME of your credibility.

I think some kind compensation to the customers that haven't been able to work properly the last couple of weeks would be in order??

Everyone that agree with me should sign this thread and add some pressure to the NI!

(pardon my english, I'm not english)

I'm pissed off with NI and I don't even own an AK1! I so wanted it to be the answer for me - in terms of functionality and price it is ideal..... if it worked properly!

I just purchased Traktor 3. I'm asking anyone out there to recommend a great working audio interface (sound card) for my Macbook? I'm professional DJ in Las Vegas and I didn't want to go Rane Serato. One, because I don't need to scratch...and two, I enjoy what Traktor has to offer over the competion. I can't wait until April for the AK1 replacement. Thanks alot!!

A flawed bit of technology. Support blame this and that, the bottom line? This kit doesn't work properly.

The only problem I'm having with AK1 is the firmware/fadein-issue. It's been quite a while since this problem first appeared in this forum and I think NI's developers/testers must have noticed this problem before. I feel like we are the beta-testers of a product we actually paid for.

I've been checking this forum and the update-manager daily for a couple of weeks now. There only seem to appear more problems (most of which I fortunately don't have to bother with) every day.

If NI doesn't come up with any fixes in the near future I will have to return my AK1 because it's not doing what I paid for. It's that simple.

I just got my AK1 yesterday and am also having the fade-in bug. Aside from that all works well.
I also send a support form with this problem, but I read somewhere here that they are working on a fix for this.
I'm glad that I don't have the other problems some people seem to have here, which are probably related to faulty configured computers... don't hate me for saying, but the device works just fine and sounds pretty damn good apart from the fade-in bug.
However, if they don't fix this fade-in problem, This product is not suitable to work with and I will send it back.

    we want to be happy

Yes, I have that fade-in problem too. I thought it was because of my 2 years old pc.

I'm on the verge to switch all my dj works to laptop bases.
In any case, I was to buy a new laptop. I don't know what I should do, if AK1 and Tractor won't endure professiobal use. So tell us, NI, that you are surely to solve it in a shortest time.

What is difficult is to love. Music gives you a power to love. So give NI love to work hard on it.

Well, they can have my love when they fix it.
Maybe everyone should send in a support form about this problem, so they know there are a lot of people having this issue.

That is actually a pretty good idea. It's not their job to hang around in online-forums all day and search for people that might complain about their hardware...
They won't know that there's so many unsatisfied users if noone tells them.

    Fade-in Problem

Mr. Crackman, I did post to the support.
Let's wait and see whether we would have to set up a New thread, "Fatal Fade-in Problem"

I believe I already found a topic about the fade-in problem here, but it's not that informative...
It's a good idea to make a topic dedicated to this problem where users can post if they have the problem or not. This way it shows how big the problem actually is.
I also read somewhere here that they are working on a new firmware version that should solve this problem. So let's wait and see!

    Fade-in prob. & PC

    Hello, Mr. Crackman,

What is the spec of your PC? My current one is not too good.

    AMD Sempron 2600+ 1.60 GHz, 448MB
    Memory 512MB

I just wanted to know, if a good pc would solve this fade-in problem. I was thinking of buying a new laptop for Tractor purpose only, when I've done my trial of AK1 on tractor. Now, I am doubting of buying a pc. I don't want buy anything uselessly, nor I don't want make effort useleslly to switch from record&cd dj to pc dj.

Does anyone have the latest high spec PC, but still have this now famous FADE-IN problem?

    My specs:

    Core2Duo E6600
    Asus P5B mobo
    2 gig RAM
    Geforce 7900GT
    Maxtor 300 Gb HD

    Should be sufficient.

The fade in problem is definitely an AK1 issue.
Low PC specs can, however, cause stutters or glitches in audio with AK1, but not this fade in issue.

    I totally agree.
NI has to confirm this problem and give us a status update.
