    Greetings all,

Well for a while now I was using last the Reaktor 4 update 4.03 pretty well, everything was pretty much working aside from the save issues, but it worked and I was relativly able to get work done using reaktor, but now I upgraded to 4.1 and the 1st load caused my CPU meeter to spike, not a constant spike but like a ticking spike, hold a note down and all of a sudden you see the cpu spike and hear a nice audible pop. Turn reaktor off and the CPU meeter stops and the clicks end aswell.

Its great and all good that NI is trying to help and satisfy its user base but seriously, with regards to reaktor, each patch usually fixes one or two things and breaks 3-4 things lol.

    My system as follows:

    - Athlon XP 2500+ (R)
    - Asus A7N8X Rev2 1.07
    - 1G Crucial CAS2 PC2700 DDR
    - (2) 80G WD 8mb Cache ATA7200
    - ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128)
    - Antec 430w Truepower
    - Creamware PowerPulsar Plus
    - TC Powercore PCI
    - UAD-1
    - Windows XP Professional
    - Nuendo 2.x

Again as I said all was well, before hand, I have since dropped back to 4.03 till I can figure out what is causing the CPU issues.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers!

    Come on people!

Am I the only one who gets spikes with 4.1? in its current stare R4 is 100% un-usable with this patch since pressing any keys will cause these spikes giving me pops every 2 seconds..

    Any help would be appreciated..

    Cheers!

Good day sir. If you look in some of the other 4.1 threads you will see a great deal of discussion on the issue. We are trying to determine resolutions at this time.

    Greetings Earnest

Thanks for your reply, though I think I may not have got the point of whats going on accross clearly. I have read the threads regarding CPU usage, whats happening on my end is slightly different ;)

I can have nothing loaded into my host and show 0% CPU, then I can load one instance of reaktor4 and it will show its normal increase, and the CPU meter will sit still, as soon as I play a note, the sound will start and miliseconds into it, the CPU meter will peak for a 16th of a second and drop back down to its normal percentage and then 2 seconds later it will repeat, each time the CPU pings per say it causes an audible pop, leaving reaktor unusable in version 4.1

I am not sure this is the exact case the 4.1 issue thread is refering too. I did try again last night and noticed that I can use my system as much as I like and load anything in with out issue, once I load an instance of R4 the CPU issue kicks in, but heres a new turn of events.

Even after I remove R4 from the VST rack, the spike will remain, though it will not be there beofre reaktor is loaded. So this leads me to belive something R4 is doing is causing this.

Is that the same thing you were referencing?

    Cheers!

PHEW!!!!! Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm glad you're experiencing this because I have the exact same problem!
I have a lot of templates in SL 2, and all of the has the Reaktor FX module with SpaceMaster in them. It was driving me nuts, no matter what I did, the spikes were there. I suspected Reaktor, but since the spike was there even when Reaktor was removed from the rack, I started suspecting other things, like video driver, software, you know, whatever I could think of. I basically thought my DAW was in a more or less useless state, untill I saw your post just now, and tried with a completely empty ensemble.

You're dead right, there isn't as much as a hint of a CPU spike at all untill Reaktor is loaded. then I get spikes all over the place, and also even if Reaktor is removed from the rack.

But anyways, hooray! Now I know my DAW's not broken!

What's your latency, str8100? I increased mine to 18ms, and that seems to cure the problem (I've tried in steps, 6ms, 11ms and 18ms), well, it sets you back to a lightyear worth of latency, but still...

    Well,

Now that I am back to 4.0.3 everything is working as it should, so 4.1 is a major let down for me since my greatest annoyance was the save issue and since that is supposed to be cured in 4.1 I wont be able to use it ;)

Now the real question, will NI fix what ever is causing this for my system, and if not where does that leave me in the land of Reaktor, stuck at 4.0.3 for ever hehe.

I guess only time will tell...

    Cheers!

Too bad. An upgrade which majorly breaks a function.
Well, guess I have to go back to use 4.03 too.

Any word from NI on this? Has anyone submitted a bug report to NI (because if noone else has, I will)?
