i understand the Reaktor has been optimized in version 4.1.2 to work better in host progs like Logic. but i tried to get it happening on Logic Plat 6.3 on my TiBook 867 with 1G RAM and i keep getting that error code (-3000, i think) that won't let me view the "editor" of the plug-in, just the ugly "controls". thus i can't load any ensembles into Reaktor.

now im not expecting to get much happening in Reaktor on that machine, but i would like to load a few of the simpler instruments into Logic from time to time. is there any fix for this, or am i waiting for an update?

for the record i tried this with the built-in Core Audio and a M-Audio Fire410, which i just downloaded new drivers for. i guess i should try that again, but any help in the meantime would be great.

    thanks,
    joe

    ouch.

i can confirm that R4.1.2 AU works like a dream in LP6 on my PB 1.25 w/ 1GB RAM. (ASIDE FROM THE LOOPING BUG. Which I know is sposedly Logic's fault.)

i'm still pretty new to OSX, so can't offer too many troubleshooting tips aside from reinstalling and not using kracked warez.

have faith though. my system is finally fulfilling the speed, simplicity and flexibility promises of the softsynth revolution, after years of struggling.

    no go?

can any logic osX user confirm somthing for me? when in the arrange window and you click the mouse down, does the data in the transport 'pause' and the scrub [is this what it is called] dissapear so you loose song position? dunno...os9 didn't do this. things would keep running when you were doing stuff. surely this is wrong.....surely...

i e-mailed emagic, and they seemed to suggest a 3rd party plugin was the problem. seemed like an automated reply and [gasp] the only one i have is Reaktor....are other reaktor using experiencing this? or is this a funny operation of logic on osX?

the looping bug is where if you're using a clock-sync'd insert effect like a delay or 4rez, you get a little glitch when Logic loops.

IFIRC, it has something to do with a combination of a lack of loop info in AU plugs and the fact Logic does a bit of look-ahead.

Apparently the AU spec has been improved to fix the problem, but it hasn't made it into Logic yet. (Though I haven't upgraded to Pro yet, so I dunno for sure.)

I believe this is much better documented elsewhere in this forum.

At any rate, it's pretty easy to work around this by working in 64 bar phrases...

And I'm not sure that I understand this last question about scrubbing, otherwise I'd check it on my setup.

basically, be in the arrange window, have the arrangment playing. the transport will have digits rolling. with the mouse, grab the x scroll at the bottom of the arrange wondow and move left or right. do all the digits 'freeze'? this is annoying and veyr different to good ol os9

I can confirm that indeed the 6.3.3/OS 10.3.3 version does work in the manner described when using the X window scroll though perhaps using the "position" legend option of the transport control might be closer to what you are looking for.

i don't think there is a way around it except getting used to it as a change...os9 certainly was nice that way....i've been a bit dissapointed with logic pro on osx...i think the demands of logic/osx are pretty great compared to 9, best get me some more memory...

ok, this is a reaktor forum...john will get upset...

I had the same problem, must be a bug!!! Anyway, just drag the actual audio unit outa it's folder to the desktop. Now open Logic without the audio unit. Now close Logic and put the audio unit back into it's folder. Reopen Logic, should work now.

Just upgraded to OS 10.3.3/Reaktor 4.1.2/Logic Pro 6.4.2 (one at a time over a period of weeks). So far all is working as expected in case anyone is keeping track.
