Horus this could have something to do with Latency.

    Nice GUI Update! But..........

1.Anything else to explore except Lazerbass or 2 new Primary Modules?

2.Anything new in Core? New CoreModules? (NI Told that since V5)

    3.Multi Core Processor compatible?

    4.Less CPU usage?

It seems No is the Answer to all and R 5.5 is just an GUI update at all.

    Thanks

Dammit! Dammit! I'm still on OSX 10.4! Does this really mean I will have to go through the hell of upgrading to 10.5 or 10.6? I think it does. What this means is that I won't be able to play with the beta for WEEKS! ARRRGGHHHHH!

My day/week/month was made by the announcement...then my hopes were crushed. Sigh. :(

But it looks awesome, NI! Great work.:D

    Okay, it's not Reaktor 6.

But I think that, if you give it a chance, 5.5 is greater than the sum of its changes. It does feel nicer to work in and I know I don't want to go back to 5.1.

And the 2 new primary modules open two new fields of synthesis. Imagine how they will be creatively abused in the months ahead!

    Matt.

    What can i say...wow, maybe.

No failures or anything. All i tested worked great. (I'm not sure about the CPU-hunger)

This Lazerbass sounds very good. And EI 1+2 then, amazing.

The list of very good changes is so long..and that all as a free update: Superb.
I would have changed a lot of the things NI did,... if i could.

Alone all the browser drag 'n drop+player/recorder. (for the workflow).

    Stoked.

Looking forward to giving 5.5 a whirl TONIGHT...I realize it's a beta but can anyone give me a head's up...I've got a project I am currently working on containing ensembles. To anyone's knowledge, will the update have any adverse effect on ens's currently in use? Am I even making any sense? I've got Reaktor 5.5 on the brain, baby.

I´m with you. It´s a very nice update with better workflow and some up to date possibilities i wouldn´t miss after the first tests.

My last Post are just the facts we can´t ignore. Just GUI for better workflow and no new core cells.

It´s better then 5.1 & Ok it´s not the Final Release..... Let´s see what they Attach then. ;)

Nice to have all the Electronic instruments and fx - I had some from various Kore packs but some are new to me.

Any chance of getting hold of the KoreSounds for them all now too? I know some were released at some point.

I must say Lazerbass is very nice, it reminds me of Synth Lords' morphing Additive synth taken to a new level. The morphing between harmonics is really fast.
The new GUI looks cleaner, to match newer NI products.
The text labels are still black, and cannot be changed colors :(

It appears the bug in the sampler player that used to crash Reaktor when dragging a range of samples has been fixed.
    Thanks for the update.

Also nice NI fixed the annoying Cubase issue (resetting CPU priority) with this update !
And I really like the new GUI and workflow ! :)

Maybe I overlooked it, but where is the "Auto-Resize only when loading Ensemble" option for the Plugin version (described in the application reference p. 78) ?

Is there somehow the possibility to load an ensemble (from inside Kore for example) with the left pane hidden and auto-optimized Size Mode, so only the
GUI of the ensemble is visible (except for the header and the tiny left strip) ?

Is there such a global option ?

Where is the option to open structure in new Window ?

I need often up to 8 Macros open in independent Windows like in 5.1.

In R5.5 i could only find the side Panel which allow max 2 half Windows to build with.

Can anyone Enlight me on how to do that, please.

Liking it a lot, except... My 1024x600 netbook screen can't display the whole window. Arg.

looking nice so far, evolutionary rather than revolutionary - but then it's not touted as such, hence the 5.5 designation.

missing the timer-count function in the file recorder though - has that been removed? I always like to know how long my recordings are :)

Unfortunately it has been removed. I missed it as well.

It could work a lot better - if you remove the browser you are still left with space where it was - it really needs a resize button

    Oh :-(

hey, @ NI crew, please bring this feature back! It could sit nicely in the new UI without too much hassle.

make sure you make copies of them as if you edit them you will not be able to load them into 5.1.5.

5.5 is good and generally nice work all round but the 2 things I really want are not there yet... 1) 64 bit support on OSX - Reaktor is the last thing stopping me running in Logic 64 bit which I would love to be able to do now. Maybe in the final build? and 2) As others have said many times here I desperately want to be able to export my ensembles as an Audio Unit (or VST) plug in. Maybe V6?

As mentioned in Stephan Schmitt's announcement, 64bit support will be the focus of the next upcoming maintenance update. Unfortunately it's a big development effort and it requires another major rewrite of the application.

Plugin export in Reaktor - I think it has been mentioned several times that this will not happen. It would effectively mean to make all existing ensembles available for free to anyone, so it would greatly reduce the motivation to own Reaktor. It would not only make Reaktor financially totally unsustainable, but it would also reduce the "build-enabled" userbase of people that modify ensembles or create new ones. This feature request should really be put to rest.

Love the look of the new interface...can't wait to get stuck in...

I couldn't find this info...is the 5.5 release going to be a free or paid update? (i'm assuming paid due to the EX2 .ens incusion?)
