As stated in stephan schmitt's announcement (1st sticky in the Reaktor forum) it will be a free update.

I have installed new beta version and when I load some new ensembles, lazerbass for example, reaktor crashes.

I’m glad to see the sine and modal banks. Some of the things I liked when I bought Reaktor were primary-level modules that were complete enough to do cool stuff, such as the granular modules. These two new modules continue that tradition. There’s even a sine bank demo instrument that shows you how to use it. Cool.

Have you got 'Auto-Optimize Size Mode' enable under the 'View' menu? I was getting frustrated by this too, until I found this option. Now it gets rid of that dead space (at the top and bottom of the GUI) when I close the browser.

Thanks for your work, Chet, I love PM synths, I have prophecy, ex5r and oasys-pci with H. Visser models, your work in this area its Top Notch, some of the best ensembles for reaktor. I hope that with this update, you can keep and improve your incredible work.

Where is that demo ensemble? And, for that matter, are there any other demos or new content besides lazerbass? I'd like to see what I can with the modal module. I'm hoping to try and clone Ableton's Corpus effect.

    tonecontroller.

If you want a application as exports your work as vst, then use synthedit or synthmaker, if not, use google.

Can anyone at NI comment on whether this will be changed? I know that Reaktor isn't meant to run on netbooks, but it would be really nice if not being able to see the whole window wasn't an additional handicap on using Reaktor with a netbook.

    Thanks for the reply Thomas

Re: 64 bit, my apologies, I noticed Stephan's info after I posted but thanks for the background info - great to know it's coming.

Re: Plug In export, I fully understand what you are saying. However, is there not a case for using a legitimate Reaktor install (or serial number) as a kind of iLok for exported ensembles as plug ins? IMO this would actually increase sales of Reaktor as I know there are many people who just want 'playback' ensembles and don't want to get into any serious editing at all.

And Jedinhopy yes I know about those (for VST) but there's noting near Reaktor for AU export (believe me I've tried them) :)

Why would they want that if they have a Reaktor license, thoiugh? The shell's a minimal load- 1% of one core here running at ridiculously low buffer settings :~

Is there any chance we could move discussion of VST export to the main forum (or ideally stop it altogether :)) as it isn't really relevant to the current beta testing?

Is it true that I can no longer have, say, the Browser and Snapshot windows up at the same time? That would be a huge reduction in usability for me. If I am missing something, please let me know! (I see that the Properties panel can be unpinned.)

While I'm writing, here are some other UI improvements necessary to bring this product up to speed.

We need a way to quickly search ensembles/instruments.

Likewise we should be able to tag them and sort/search/filter by tags.

Need a way to re-order ports on a macro.

Need a replace macro option, which would preserve all connections (as far as possible).

Small thing: Having the volume faders directly on the I/O panel is great, but it should jump to mouse clicks as well as take click'n'drag. Clicking is faster.

This, at least, is now supported. Right click a port and, from the 'Select Port' sub-menu, you can set the order of any of the ports.
