I would love a right/control click 'Replace With...' option, but I suspect it would be pretty much impossible to program.

Anybody else having trouble with the"electronic instruments" and"Lazerbass"?I can`t find them (no,Lazerbass is not in my Factory-ensembles-new additions-synthesizer folder...)

And:i`m missing a resize button (at least when i close the browser before),i really don`t like to scroll over panels.especially when it`s working as a plugin.

    OSX 10.5.8

    C2Duo

edit: oops, sorry i saw the"where are the new instruments"thread now...i will try the posted workarround...

Due to the one-window concept R 5.5 does not offer independent open windows. Please compare with other development tools (e.g. IDEs for programming). The question is how fast and intuitive you can handle multiple "documents" like the Reaktor Structures.
Our solution for this are the "Bookmarks" which allow to jump to any Structure, that you have marked before. You find them in the dropdown menu of the Structure window header.
Further improvements to this bookmark system are planned for one of the next updates.

I don't know - the Nord G2 Modular editor has this function and it is extremely useful

For me, these sluggish browsers are making Absynth, FM8, etc... less fun to use. Whatever they do in this regard, I hope it has a light footprint.

I think more important is an integrated envelope/stepper "module" with an arbitrary number of steps+easy to customize. Reaktor has always been great for synthesis/sampling, but not so great for millisecond/minutes scale sequencing/envelopes.
Right now I have to use Max to sequence Reaktor.

    Proper OSC support as well.

Anyone who's tried the beta: Will this keep me from using Reaktor across multiple screens? I find it helpful for programming big ensembles and GUI editing.

Also, thanks to all you programmers and moderators for taking the time to address our questions and concerns! I'm really excited to test-drive the update.

Thanks for answer stephan. And 1000+ Thanks for R5.5. After a sleepless night i can confirm that it´s ways better as 5.1 and there´s no need for more windows.

The handling is faster and enough screen modes to choose from.
This improves Building Workflow in many ways.

Just some small change with Graphic Performance would be nice. Seems a bit higher than the previous Reaktor.

Btw. Bookmarks like in Internet Browsers with tabs would be nice.

    cheers

O.k. These are my FIRST 5.5.1-impressions:

    PROS:
    - Nice and solid, congrats for that !
    - Two new powerful Primary modules (very welcome ! Thank you !)
    - EI 1+2 included (which doesn´t make any difference for me as I´ve owned both before. Bought EI 2 last month  . Wasted money that I would´ve liked to spend in another way)

    CONS:
    - Nothing from a five years old forum wishlist has been realized yet. We´ll see what future brings.
    - Still the same Core compilation/initialization inconsistencies as in 5.1 (hopefully the public beta testing will lead to a fix this time)
    - The new one-window concept:

Honestly sorry, master, that I have to disagree:
It may depend on one´s building style if any advantage can be made of the new concept. To me it means solely a disadvantage. Why ?

The "onboard"-possibilities to debug a Core structure have always been pretty limited (so far no improvement on what possibly has been the biggest obstacle to Core for most of the users). Well, I´ve built my own debug tools and I am happy with them.
The quickbubbles in Debug mode - most often - are not that helpful.
    But sometimes they are !
Imagine a signal path inside a CoreCell that splits into several sub-structures - nothing spectacular so far.
In 5.1 I always could open as many sub-structures as I want in their own windows, activate the Debug mode in any of them and look at the quickbubbles in any window I want while changing any input value from the panel window.
In 5.5.1 - in case that I want a panel view - I can open only one structure (without a panel view it´s two of them max.), activate Debug mode, look at the quickbubbles, change to another sub-structure, activate Debug AGAIN, ....... , and if I change the output value of a panel element this process may start right from the beginning..., ...., ....
Sry, but for me that doesn´t work.
Lucky me who has got two legal licenses so I can build my Core structures on one machine (5.1) and import them to another (5.5). Not very comfortable, but I haven´t got a clue how to proceed in a different way.

Nonetheless I am pretty excited about what nice goodies of 5.5.1 I will experience in the next time. I am sure I didn´t come across the best ones so far. It´s a lot too early to make any final statement.

Btw, does the inclusion of EI 1+2 mean that parts of them may be copied/borrowed/"stolen" from now ? There´s no statement in the actual license agreement that proscribes it ;) .

    Best regards. Gerald.

Sorry,i can`t reach the bug tracker cause i never got a password (and i get allways an empty mail when i request a new one :( ) so i have to post it here...

I was playing arround a bit with logic and Reaktor 5.5 and i noticed a TERRIBLE loud"click"or "clonk"when i simply change the ensembles (i tried some of the EI vol.2 ensembles).one time it was even followed by a kind of feedback.Sequencer was not running and there are no other instruments or plugins open...

Can this lemurized metaphysical function from lostinetwork now be uploaded to UL because of a changed license agreement?

Yes, please make all kinds of funky instruments out of EI1+2 and share them with the world. That was one of the main reasons for including them. :D

I wait for a full blown pianoroll module in reaktor as can both import and export midi, like a special version of event table. one tab for each midi channel and each midi channel uses all available voices for polyphony, then i can build midi glitchers.

The documentation seems more complete this time around since NI opted to include an 'Application Reference' manual. I definitely could have used this (especially the section on event processing) when I started learning to build with Reaktor.

    Thanks!

This update is amazing for me.

It fixed absolutely all my SYNC issues. I am using ensembles even from Reaktor 3 and 4 library. Almost every sequenced synth or drum machine had clock inaccuracy or dropped notes in FL Studio and Ableton. Sometimes tempo issues and so on.

With this update everything is working super tight and in PERFECT sync with the host tempo.

New looks seems way more intuitive and better to me. New devices...wow thank you NI.

Sure there is room for improvement but all these bugfixes and inclusion of new tools is very generous - at least for me.

    Keep up the good work!

    now let's track some bugs..
