it might be different with 10.6 but with 10.5, if you open the Utility, you get the Audio Page - see first pic - and the if you click on the MIDI Devices button, you get the MIDI Setup.

Yeah thats the page i cant access. Its accessed via the 'show MIDI' window in 10.6. The second pic is as far as i get before i get an error saying 'unable to connect to the MIDI server'

Seems like you have done something dodgy with your midi settings (otherwise the the audio/midi settings utility would open) Have you no sound card connected to the Mac (dont see anything in your list in jpegs above), have you tried opening midi utility without the 003 mixer connected, have you installed any drivers for the 003 mixer that have interfered with your midi settings and if so can you remove them. This seems more likely to be a driver/midi problem than any fault with reaktor so it is difficult to diagnose. Probably would have been quicker just to format the machine lol and go back to 10.5 which is a bit more forgiving on the drivers (no real benefits here running 10.6 for me to be honest)

I havent connected anything external when im launching. I can't remember what drivers i installed other than whatever pro tools came with which was quite a while ago so i wouldnt know what to remove exactly!

what music software have you installed?

to me it seems that whatever is preventing you from opening the MIDI Utility, is also preventing Reaktor from working properly.

I just have sibelius 5 and protools le. I just deleted the MIDI drivers for protools and now my MIDI Drivers folder is empty. Restarted and tried to open MIDI Device window but still unable to connect. Tried launching Reaktor too but still same.

Now when i launch the AUDIO MIDI Setup utility it tries to open the MIDI Devices window automatically which like previously just stays at loading until i quit and get the error message.

    Hey Gennargiu.

It seems to be a problem that was in place before the install from what i can tell and not the software itself. The fact that i cant open the MIDI device window seems to be an indicator. What do you have in your MIDI Drivers folder?
