So I start Live 8.1.1, load an instance of Reaktor 5.15.002.

It prompts me to select my auto-save folder. I click the 'browse' button and it hangs up forever. What gives?

As I suggested in your Ableton forum post, start Reaktor in stand-alone and save the default auto-save directory. Then when you open as a plugin, you will not be prompted. I tend to beleive that it is an Ablelton issue as I have not had this issue with Reaktor on any DAW.

chaircrusher, are you on Mac and if which format VST or AU. PC (just VST)

sometimes VST that don´t pass the stupid scan and Ableton crashes or will scan VST forever. This is a know problem.

I have it right now... but not with R5.

I never had probs with AU.

If that happens during the scan, just deselect and reselect the custom plugin folder in youy preferences or trash your preferences.

The real solution is to open up Reaktor in another host, load an ensemble and go to preferences. Check the box that says auto save off by default; that option only appears with Reaktor loaded as a plugin. Done.

Actually a reboot fixed the problem. Go figure.
