    Hello all,

At present I'm considering whether to use Reaktor for a certain project I'm about to undertake. I've got a Roland JV-2080 synthesizer that I love, but to date I've only used it for its preset patches. Now I want to go farther and make my own patches, but the problem is its extremely inconvenient user interface; it's a rack-mounted synth, and accessing most of the parameters requires an endless succession of clicks to navigate through menus.

So I want to create something in software that will allow me to edit patch parameters and transmit them in the form of MIDI SysX messages to the JV. Because I want to hear changes while I'm making them, I also want the software to be able to receive MIDI Note On/Off messages and pass that input to the synth, merging the two sources (notes and SysX) in the process.

This, then, is the question: does Reaktor 5 provide all the features required to make something like this? I like the fact that Reaktor can be used as a plugin; that way I don't have to send MIDI from Ableton to a separate process.

    Thank you,

    T.
