Reaktor 6 FX in Abelton

There is something I must not understand and any help would be greatly appreciated. I load an instance of Reaktor FX, let's say to use the finger or mouth onto the desired audio track in abelton live 10 and I then load a separate midi track to trigger the effect off of. Where I choose the routing for the midi in the midi track I get a bunch of different choices like: Reaktor 2L/ Reaktor FX,Reaktor 3L/ Reaktor FX,Reaktor 4L/ Reaktor FX, etc all the way to 8. And none of these selections will allow me to trigger effects? What am I doing wrong, and I don't understand why I have so many choices in the drop down menu, if I'm using Izotope Stutter Edit or any other midi trigger effect I only get once choice? This might be a big noob question, but man I would greatly appreciate any insight anyone may have!

 

If I remember correctly, the plugin version of Reaktor can have up to 16 mono audio inputs/outputs (or 8 stereo pairs: 1L/1R - 8L/8R):

• FX version: 16 in / 16 out
• Instrument version: 2 in / 16 out

The naming might perhaps be a little bit different, but these are usually the ones listed in the Audio From and Audio To routing boxes of an Audio or Return Track in Ableton Live.

If this doesn't solve the problem:

• Can you post screenshots of how your tracks are currently set up?
• Which operating system (Windows or macOS) are you using?
• And which Live 10 version number (latest is 10.1.9)?

 

The mouth works so it's something with the finger and I suspect it's how I communicate with the midi controller? I don't understand why I have all of these choices, for stutter edit just one comes up. I suppose this is my main confusion. I so appreciate you insight!

 

Can you please also post additional screenshots which show:

• The entire FX/plugin chain on Track 3 (named 'HHI2_114_E_Guitar_ ...') in your screenshot
  
• And the Reaktor plugin window itself (which shows The Finger preset, etc.) loaded on Track 3

I did a quick test and both using The Finger and The Mouth seems to behave the same here (with showing only [ 1-Reaktor 6 FX ] ):

• Ableton Live 10.1.9
• Reaktor 6.3.2
  
• The Finger 1.3.0
• The Mouth 1.3.0

So not sure what might be different in your case. Or if it might perhaps be something I can't see from the screenshot in post #3 alone.

Also, have you already checked if you have the latest updates installed?

 

Ok, I'm a total idiot... I placed an external instrument onto the midi track and routed to back to track 3 and it works... I swear I'm trainable... Thank you solger, I very much appreciate your willingness to help!
