so frustrating because Reaktor clearly has such great potential .. but the tuturoials i look at just don't fit in with what I find on my newly installed version .. have loaded the library, and the blocks

ok first, go File > Preferences...and then i forget but your looking for a tab pertaining to reaktors File Paths.

after you write that down, go to your start menu, ( assuming windows ?), and scroll down your programs list until you get to windows accessories.

click File Explorer and link that to your tool bar so you can get to it.

hi there thanks for you help Rulgert .. I wasn't paying close enough attention to the video .. turns out they are in the Reaktor 5 pathway ...so I think i've solved it . at least as far as basic effect insertion.
I think I should pace myself with Reaktor and not get too fussed if it's a bit confusing .. after all this music should be fun right .. and I've got all of Komplete 12 collectors to inspire me
have a great afternoon in Winconsin
Evening time here in Brighton .

i think at some point i will realize reaktor was very worth learning to a deeper degree...but yes, i wouldn't slam yourself into the learning curve too hard; though i would not suggest leaning it so slow that you lose the immersion, and forget the little you did learn when you comeback to it....

i also have an excellent collection of some of the very finest instruments and processors; and so for me the only reaktor motivation was the act of actually taking my studio off-line....i lost some "call and response Auth" only devices, and it was a way of coping with the loss..

once you get your reaktor operating parameters all set up, and understand the fundamentals of edit mode; your will be where anyone, who even topically uses reaktor, should be....that would be the point at which you would either become comfortable with it, as part of your set up, or further decide to punish yourself with whatever level of mastery beyond that.
