I wrote a post that includes syncing Reaktor standalone and Ableton on a Mac (scroll down) - the same would apply for Reaktor and Maschine. You'd probably want to use Maschine as the master.

    wow thanks for that PD!
thats got me half way there!
    : )

    Okay,

So im not so sure weather the IAC driver is what I needed when these to are stand alone?

I tried it and my reaktor tempo went pretty wild, I dont know if thats normal?
Any way I have all the Maschine and Reaktor ins and outs on and it works to trigger reaktor to play from the maschine but the tempo is still going for it scrolling between 400 and 500..

Would it be possible to effect Maschines audio with Chris Lists Beatlookup whilst sequencing an external synth running pads and bass from instruments in Reaktor and have audio from the Microkorg coming in to effect aswell?

Im not sure if its too complicated but I have to try it : )

Id like to be able to reduce this to a single panel in Reaktor that i can make a template for on my zero sl mk2 as I have been using it to controll my Microkorg but i can see how it would be more suited to using with Reaktor if I could make it all work together.

us Mac owners have an advantage in the Maschine and the Reaktor 5.5 Beta have Virtual In and Out Ports. these can be used to send and receive MIDI and MIDI Clock between 2 Standalone NI pplications without having to use the IAC Driver  i don't think PC owners see these Virtual Ports. to clarify, you should be able to send MIDI to a non NI application from Maschine using Maschin'es Virtual Ports.

in the example pics, Maschine is sending MIDI and MIDI Clock to Reaktor, using Reaktor 5's Virtual MIDI Ports - i could have used the Maschine ports.

Maschine Controller (MID output port 0) sends MIDI Note/Gate data much like any keyboard, but it is the virtual ports that send data from the Patterns in the Sequencers.

if anyone has questions, please ask :)

Huh, I had no idea about the built in virtual midi ports. Mind = blown.

Anyhow I just tested and got it working with both the virtual midi ports and the IAC bus. Clock does not go mad, tempo follows Maschine, note data gets sent to Reaktor. Maybe you've created a loop somehow?

fwiw, when syncing Maschine to Logic - with Logic as the Master, i found the Virtual Ports tighter than the IAC Driver.

and also it is important to be using the Maschine 1.5 update, rather than earlier versions of Maschine.

sowari, I had my set up the same as in the screenshots the tempo is still going wild,
This only happens when i check 'sync to external clock' in Reaktor..
could be because of my motu 8pre ? i have a few more options than show up on yours due to my setup...
    ---
okay, it was the 8pre midi port and zero mk 2 port 1 on in the input of Reaktor causing this all sorted : )
I hope it doesnt stop me from using this to map things to, iv been really looking forward to getting it sorted out!
    ---
To have them synced i have had to sacrifice my midi keyboard and the zero sl
pretty annoyed about this and really confused, I think the way i have them plugged in may be the problem... im going to play with cables for abit and see if i can suss it out.. any tips?

yeah that works too, but the tempo still wont sync this way, or the way i had it, it just goes for a run when i turn the virtual ports on..
    ---
it has something to do with the microkorg, when i turn it off the sync works fine..
i have no idea why this would be?
    ---
set its clock to external and all is well, im so slow!

once you have set up the midi out(keyboard) to midi in(maschine) is there anything i will need to edit before i can record into the maschine as its not picking up any input when i play the keyboard, thanks.
