i try to use reaktor 4 as fx plug-in ableton 3 under os x [10.3.5].
ableton can´t recognize the reaktor fx plug-ins. ableton doesn´t allows me to determine my own plug-in folder and uses always the folder in --->
    HARDDISC-USER-LIBRARY-AUDIO-PLUG-INS-VST instead.
anybody the same problem / any solution?

i don't have live, so i don't know how much this will help.

in os x, all audio apps should look for vst plugins in both of the following locations:
    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
    ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST (where ~ stands for /Users/YourUserName)

anything loaded into either of those places should work properly. reaktor tends to be finicky (at least with cubase sx) in that it doesn't allow you to put the reaktor vst plugin files in a subfolder without causing problems.

you might also want to make sure you don't have reaktor files in both locations and that they are all version 4.1.3.

you should have the following files:
    Reaktor4 FX 2x8.vst
    Reaktor4 FX.vst
    Reaktor4 Surround.vst
    Reaktor4.vst

    hi !
you have to specify to live where's your VST folder. you can do it by clicking the preference dialogue box and choosing the "misc" page. here you can find "vst plug ins folder" in the "path" section.
    hope it will help !

    thanks scared and humeka!

i know that i have to specify a vst folder in abletons live preference and that i have to put the reaktor vst plug-ins [carbonized] there. i did this, but it shows me all the other plug-ins in the specified folder but not the ones of reaktor.
what i don´t understand is, always when i check the path for plug-ins in the preferences it tells me " not choosen " but it is in the right path [browsed and rescaned], otherwise i couldn´t see the other [dma] plug-ins, burt it shows me " not choosen " when i open preferences next time!

i also reinstalled ableton 3 software to make sure this is not the point and i also took the reaktor carbon fx plug-ins
    [Reaktor4 FX 2x8.vst Reaktor4 FX.vst
    Reaktor4 Surround.vst Reaktor4.vst]
directly from the update cdr of reaktor 4.

---> but it doesn´t changed anything!
any further help! / sunday is long and online support takes days!
    best h

Possibly not much help but some information anyway.

Reaktor FX plugins do work in Live 4 however there are some issues such as loading a Reaktor Plugin (VST or AU) can cause Live to crash.

Also some FX controls appear in the Live interface while many do not.

hochenkeit ~ what is that program you ran? Where do I get it? I have the same problem except that I can see the instrument VST in Live, but none of the FX DLL's. I already re-ran the 4.1.3 update...no changes.

I also can't get the ReaktorFX to work in any other host program. Orion Platinum can see the dll, but gives me an error upon launching. Help please.

Is Orion looking at the correct version? What's the version number of the .dll in the folder Orion's looking in?

    4.1.3.5

I actually really care if it works in Live ~ but it doesn't even show up in Live's Effects list.

Now that's strange-I've got all the versions showing up in Live here.
How about in the VST subfolder in your Reaktor folder-do you have all of them there? Are those the correct versions? If so,try copying them to the folder Live's looking in.Then, have Live rescan the folder.

With 4.1 Live multiple instances of reaktor instruments work. Sort of

I got it working with 3 intruments and 1 Effect.

Adding a second effect crashed live.

An improvement over just one instrument working

OK, after moving the DLLs to the Instruments sub-folder under VSTPLUGINS, it works! I have no idea why that is. I created those sub-folders. I had them in the folder Effects. They even did NOT work under the main VSTPLUGINS directory. Anyway, thanks for the help.

BTW, I had already copied them from the NI folder & I'm runnning Live 4.1.

    Thanks.
