    Hello Everyone,

I wanted to report a problem with Sonar Home Studio, in which a sustained note with Reaktor 5 dies out in playback. Other DXI's do not seem to have this problem. If a sustained note is played with reaktor in the DAW, there will be no problem, but when played back, after5 sec, the sound dies out.

The VST version, processed through Sonar's wrapper, has no problem like this.

Anone else seen this and found a workaround? My drivers have been known to have probs with VSTi sound quality, and I'd prefer to use the dxi version..

    System: Athlon XP 2800+
    Windows XP
    1 gig pc 2700 ddr
    EMU 1212m soundcard
    GForce 4400 128 meg VRAM

Errr, sorry to bother everyone, but this is a test post. The last one showed me as a guest when I'm a registered owner, so I tried logging in at the main site and then posting this to see if my designation changes...

the "guest" problem is supposed to being looked into and hopefully fixed soon. there are loads of people with similar problems.

Re: Sonar, i am on Mac so i can't help. but it would help others if you gave a more detailed desciption of your situation. meaning, name a Reaktor synth and describle how you programme this sustained note (how long, does it loop).

That's a weird one- I use an old version of Sonar (2.2), so I'm probably close to your version in code. I've never seen that issue- could we have more details as Phil asked?

Well, what basically occurs is that I'll be using a dxi reaktor 5 synth, (it seems that occurs with any of them, at least the new ones), while I'm recording, everything is fine. On playback, however, if a note has been held in the recorded track for longer than 5 seconds, the whole audio just dies, quits. It seems to die at different places. the longest it has lasted on a sustained note is 15 seconds. Many times, everything dies out in 5 seconds. As I said, the VST version works fine. The DXI synths that came with Sonar seem to do OK as well.

Of course, this problem may just go away with the new update. This also could be an ineraction with the EMU drivers, which were written by Creativelabs, (nuff said.... I swear, it's the last time I will buy any card that is even losely affiliated with them).

Oddly enough, the VST vesions of reaktor run significantly lighter on the cpu, an average of 3 percent. I'm surprised at this, since Sonar Home Studio uses a wrapper for VSTi's. Well, I'm off to get the update. If it fixes the prob, I'll let you know....

Well just got the update, it's quite nice. It doesn't solve the dxi problem though.....

Still wondering whether it's the EMU drivers. Creative Labs' drivers for their Audigy cards used to have a similar problem, but it was with vst synths.....

i have sonar as well and have no probs with this- when bouncing a midi file i have to extend the length of the midi file to where the tail ends so it captures. wish i could help.
