    Hi!

I've been wanting to use Reaktor more lately because of the unique approach it brings to my music making.

I'm a workflow junkie and I usually can't start using something on a regular basis until I figure out the best possible workflow for using it.

The plan is to just use premade ensembles such as the ones that come with Reaktor, User Library, and purchased specifics (I may build in the future as well). I'm also working in Cubase 6 as my main host.

Let me get to the point. I'm looking for the shortest possible path to loading a particular instrument or effect from Reaktor. Is the quickest way just to open a copy of Reaktor and search through the built in tree file browser until I find something or is there a better way?

How do you organize and load your Reaktor instruments and effects? Do you save presets of each and then just recall that preset from within your host?

I guess I'm just looking for basic workflow tips to get from A to tweaking the fastest and most efficient way possible.

    Thanks!
    ~Airyck~

I like to save each Ensemble inside of Kore as a Kore preset with descriptive tagging, so it's easy to find a "Reaktor 5 User/Delay," for example. Good way to organize and find things, especially when you start adding a lot of user ensembles.

I have all my ensembles on an external HD in a folder called, appropriately enough, Reaktor Ensemble Library.

If you open up Reaktor standalone and then open its Preferences (I'm on a Mac, but I'm assuming it's pretty much the same on a PC) go to the Directories tab and direct Reaktor to where your ensembles are located, which, as I said in my case, is on an external HD.

When I open Reaktor, as standalone or plug-in, all my ensemble folders appear under the Factory tab.

I use taggtool.com for organizing my ensembles library and then drag and drop them into Reaktor (stand-alone or as plug). So, I'm not using the built-in browser...

    Thanks for the replies :)

@TechLo I have Kore 2 but I'm not using it much due to the lack of 64bit support, therefore I'd also like to have a method that works outside of Kore 2.

@reddog2 I'll try messing with some of the settings to see if I can get my ensemble folder as the main directory. I guess I'll need to organize them first.

@ZooTook That seems like a pretty cool program, I might give it a try but running an entirely different program to find files might be cumbersome but it could be worth a shot, thanks for the idea.

it requires that have some spare time to tag your library. I appreciate it's not for everybody...

regarding tagging - On the mac I believe you can tag files using command+i and entering anything where it says 'spotlight'. kinda handy

A similar question: when you talk about your ensemble folder, you mean that you move the ensembles that come with Reaktor and all the downloaded ones to another folder (not the default)? Or you only put in that folder your own and downloaded ensembles/presets?
