But that's what effects do! Reverbs don't generate sound, they modify stuff passing through them!

    OK, sorry.

Are you loading an ensemble or an instrument?

You have to wire an instrument ins and outs, ensembles are already connected.

The first shows what happens when you load an effect ensemble, the second when you load the same as an instrument.

You have a pre-recorded track - a drum recording - and you want to apply an effect to it?

Imagine you wanted to add reverb to the track, what would you do?

I would create a send/return track and put the reverb there. Then send all the tracks that I want to have that reverb to that send/return track.

Then I'd adjust sends and returns levels and dry tracks levels until the mix sounds right.

Just put Reaktor in that spot where you would put the reverb.

Choose Reaktor FX as the VST effect, pick the effect ENSEMBLE that you want (not INSTRUMENT). Then choose a snapshot and/or adjust your panel knobs.

Arachnaut U da Man ! So basicly u cant load fx as instruments just ensambles. i dont understand why the fx are listed under instruments if we cant load them. theres alot more selection under the instrument fx list compared to the ensamble fx list. Thanks for your time and info !

Look at my post 5 above and open the pictures.

If you load an instrument you need to wire up the ins and outs yourself.

It's done for you in the ensemble.

You can't load synth instruments either without wiring them.

You should read the manual. There is an easy introduction to building a simple synthesizer. It will take a few hours to go over.

you need to understand the Reaktor Hierarchy which is explained in the Manuals.

an Ensemble hosts Instruments. Instruments can be Suquencers, Synths, Samplers and FX.

the reason there are Instrument FX is so you can load a Delay Effect into an Ensemble that just has a Synth Instrument.

similarly you could load a second Synth and create a multi-timbral Ensemble which hosts a number of Synths receiving on different MIDI Channels.

the Getting Start Manual has a section that shows you how load effects. i suggest you go through the manual but remember some of the photos might be from an older version of Reaktor.
