Hi, I'm just wondering if i can use Reaktor as effect like any other FXs. I hear there are good reverbs in Reaktor so i was wondering....

    Cheers.

One thing I noticed was that the Reaktor VSTi will ad an effect to the audio coming in AND it will also pass the audio through without the effect.

The Reaktor FX VST will act like a typical effects plug in.

I am new to Reaktor, so I might be wrong on this, but this is what I remember observing.

So you're saying if i load 1 reaktor it will create 2 different audio channel in my DAW?
1 with processing and 1 without? That's interesting.

Just so long as i can use it as VSTi I'm happy.

I use Reaktor effects all the time in Protools. Some of my favorites are Flatblaster and Fusion Reflections. I also use lots of reaktor istruments on aux input tracks. Among these, Limelite probably gets the most use.

There is a problem, however. Since Protools has to load reaktor, and then an instrument, it is very easy to run out of memory. usually, what i do is load the effect, get the sound i like, and then bounce the effected track to a new track, then delete the old track.

To make the most of it, you want to have PT loaded on one drive, your PT data on a second drive, and Reaktor working from a third drive. Sad but true.

thanks for the tip about the steampipe reverb. I never thought of that. I'll try it.

I find, in general, that reverbs are almost always memory hogs. The problem with using any Reaktor effect as a reverb, is that i often need 3 or 4 of them on any song i produce. It would never work with Reaktor.

Protools 8 comes with a few new free reverbs that work much better than their old products. I use them.

Just try the Space Master 2 and I don't think you could still…;)

At the moment, I'm still working with Protools (not for so long because I'm switching to Live and Logic), the only thing to do is to bounce your reverb tracks and disable the original ones…
