Okay...this is getting really annoying now!

I'm sure I had Reaktor working through the MBOX before, but now when I try it I don't get an option in the audio & midi prefs for digidesign mbox at all.

I have it set up right in the os x audio & midi setup, the core audio drivers are of course installed, I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, swearing at it, hitting it, but nothing.

It does work doesn't it? Am I going mad?

I'm having major problems with Reaktor these days. See my 'sticking/hanging notes' thread also. And the tech support are not replying at all either.

Well, strike that one - I restarted and it worked OK.

I got the crash when I quit without unplugging the Mbox first though.

    Bugs bugs bugs.

does it really work through MBOX?

How did you make it work through your MBOX? I am running Pro Tools version 6 on my Imac Osx and waiting patiently for RTAS support to be released by Native Instruments. Until then I had resigned myself to using Reaktor standalone through my headphone output hooked up to my monitor system. If you could tell me how it works with MBox I'd very pleased.

First you need to download and install the core audio drivers from digidesign:
    http://www.digidesign.com/download/coreaudio/

Then (maybe after restarting) you should be able to select digidesn mbox as the output from the reaktor prefs.

    Ah, help me!!

    Red,

I'm so glad you are having problems as well as me (not meant in a nasty way)! I've an MBox running on a G4 PB with Reaktor4. I'm having real problems. When I select the 'Digidesign HW' option in the audio preferences box I get over 9 seconds of latency in Reaktor! The audio preferences also alows me to choose 'core audio' as well which gives me the same latency. When I go into the adio preferences box the latency bar is at the minimum setting saying 23ms and I when I move it up it still says 23ms latency. I'm also getting loads of grief with hings like Reaktor always asking me for the original CD after I've installed it then saying I'm not using a valid authorisation code! Are you having these problems too? I also have problems with Vocator crashing when using the 'Digidesign HW' driver. Any ideas? I rekon that the digidesign drivers are not fully compatible with NI software yet, I hope either NI or digidesign sort it out. I'm getting the OSX updates for Kontakt and Battery when them come out, I don't want them not working either. Sorry to ramble on but I want to see if someone with the same setup is having the same problems.

    Re: Ah, help me!!

Sorry, can't really help with these. I had to reinstall R4 once but since then it's been OK on the authorisation front.

I heard elsewhere that Digidesign will realease a new version of the core audio driver soon, so hopefully that will solve your problems.

I also hope NI will release another update to R4 as there are still some critical problems with the app for Mac users.
