Is it possible to run Reaktor on a separate computer than the computer that is running my MIDI/Digital Recording program (Digital Performer 4)?

I am curious about this because I am running into performance issues when I try to use Reaktor inside Digital Performer on my 1Ghz G4 PowerMac.

As a stand-alone application Reaktor performs nicely. It is just when I use Digital Performer and Reaktor together at the same time that I quickly run out of processing power.

If you have tried something like this, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Joel

Yes, sure it's possible, not sure how you want to do it though.
Why not have reaktor standalone midi-ed up to the other computer running digital performer ? That would be the good old fashoned way.
Then you could mix the audio from both into a mixer.

By the way, I'm not sure if youre officially allowed to have 2 copys running at the same time unless you own 2 licences, although you are allowed 2 installations on diffent computers.

    Bob,

Thanks. I will give it a try.

I will only be running Reaktor on one machine, not two.

I am going to try out WormHole (http://www.apulsoft.ch/wormhole/index.php) to let me get audio from my iBook to my PowerMac. I'm sure there will be some complications some where. I will report back.

Wow, that wormhole thing does look quite cool, if it works okay.
I may look into this to get audio into my powerbook from my pc, let me know how you get on.
    Bob.
