I really hope they add "Real-Time" "Time-Stretching", exactly how kontakt 5 has it. I dont see why they haven't added it to Maschine yet, people have been asking for this for a long time....

I know they have the "offline" time-stretching which is cool, but say you have an 808 sample you want to play as an instrument, having it time-stretch in real-time would be great!

Because you can choose the "quality" of the stretch by choosing the size of grains while you also choose the stretch in real time. And, as the guy is looking for a real time solution, moving the grains size leads to possible verry interesting sound distortion he can manipulate live.

Also, the offline stretch is good to some point. Too much stretch (how much? 5 %?) and you start to get a weird echo thing you are forced to get along with. I really think that get more interesting results when I can control de grain of the stretch. I tweak it depending on the value of the stretch. It doesnt mean I'm gonna have something always 100% clean, but I can transform it in a way it's usable for me (that includes weird findings). Well and it's real time.

Not disputing how good and interesting grain stretch is, but it's not the solution for what this thread is about. The realtime timestretch feature requested here is just an automatic and transparent adjustment according to tempo/pitch. The grain stretch can manipulate the same parameters, but, as you say, not in a particularly clean way, which is what is wanted. Also, grain stretch is realtime in a sense, but it needs to be switched on at the right time and is not a typical kind of effect that you just play through.

+1. Real time time stretching is a huge oversight, especially as NI can already do this in other apps. It is also fits perfectly to the whole ethos of a machine like Maschine.

I purchased Bitwig because of its impeccable time stretch, though I don't see a need to ever use a daw if they would just implement a couple things into maschine (independent pattern lengths, saving global midi and time stretch). It's frustrating using multiple programs when they could easily implement this request into maschine. I mean Kontakt can do it so what the heck is the deal....
