Will I have to make the necessary changes myself once I go to controller editor because I dont see how theres a way to import the template that Karmaged supplied.
Also does this only work for Kong drum? Will it work for Redrum and dr.octorex?

You must get the controller editor first.

I think you may have missed a step, you must get the application for Maschine, called the "CONTROLLER EDITOR", please download it to your desktop. Then use the template from earlier in this thread it to map your Maschine. It looks just like Maschine but its an app. Maybe you already know this...sorry if so.

then you go to your sequencer and bus it in there. choose the right midi controller (maschine). and voila.

I have the Controller Editor running but when I go to it, it doesnt allow me to pick the reason template that was provided. I see the other templates but it wont allow me to add the new one. So would this template only work for Kong drum on reason?

I finally got this to work by going to Channel 1 on the Advanced Midi Device at the top of Reason and selecting "Mixer..." or "Kong..." is this what everyone was talking about when you said you had to "bus it in"?

The weird part is, when I select Kong, the pads control Kong just fine, but nothing else on Maschine works (knobs, buttons, transport, etc.). When I select Mixer, the knobs do control levels, but on tracks 6-13, instead of 1-8? Also, the mute buttons don't mute the tracks, they toggle Aux 1 on tracks 8-14 from 0 to 10?

Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    YEs its a custom TEMPLATE

The Template provided by Karmaged is custom made by him. IF you want to control other parameters you have to select from the menu on the controller what you want to do, Ie, toggle, gate, etc...

no buttons will work until you map them to what you want to do on both Kong and controller. There are the assignment tabs in controller and if you go to the ssequencer in reason, rigt click and edit automation. set it up.. there is a video.

I get what you're saying about mapping everything to what I want it to do. However, I had gathered from this post:

that his custom set up should control track 1-8 levels (with the knobs) and track mutes (with the top row of buttons). That's why I thought it was weird that mine is controlling 6-13 or whatever and that the buttons are flicking Aux 1 on and off. Figured I was doing something wrong...

    Still not working.

I downloaded the template, I have it active in the controller editor but I still can't get Maschine to work with Reason. I use Reason in combination with Record, but it doesn't work when I just use Reason without Record. I'm not sure what I've done wrong. Though, when I go to preferences and then advanced it doesn't say "Maschine Controller Midi..." but instead it just says "Maschine Controller In". Also, when I go to the advanced midi section on top of my mixer it doesn't say "Maschine Controller Input Port 0", instead it just says "Maschine Controller In". But this isn't something I can change I think. I would love to have Maschine working with Reason so if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance.

it seams that the reason template works only on new reason setups. it will not work on previous tracks we created. we need to figure out a way for it to work on older reason songs..

I think you have to go to the advanced preferences, then choose your buss menu, a, b, etc.. also you should just open Record. It works beautifully with Maschine for me, I am using it to control kong and it's awesome.

Also make sure that your CE says PAD c as well as maschine selected to pad c.

Hi thanks for the template - im a little stuck on how to get this to work - i followed all the advice and im still not getting anything from the pads or seemingley any midi messages from within reason - i did notice that on the reason screenshot above - you had "Maschine Controller MIDi.." selected - in mine however - all i see is "Maschine Controller In" - no mention of the midi - i am on PC rather than mac - but it shouldnt make a difference - do you think im missing something here?
    Thanks in advance.

***Update - buy changing the bus values i finally got some joy from the pads - but ive now got a similar problem to above - when i press record in reason - its not recording the midi notes - i can hear them but it wont lay them down - also interestingley - when i press the pads i cant see any midi messages going to kong (the green light on the keyboard in the sequencer) - its like its getting the midi mesages but not if you know what i mean.

Thanks for this template! I have not upgraded to the latest Reason but plan to very soon and this was one of the things on my wish list.
