Ok... so I was wondering if the FS to FS2 rebate check was ever actually going to arrive...

But it did finally arrive (yay!) but the check for $200 has a "Void after April 3 2005" on it... (huh?)

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on what I can do to sort this out?

    AAaaarrrgggghhhh!!

    Thanks,
    Greg

Now that sucks. what was the issue date on the check? The chick is valid for a minimum of 90 days from date of issue. the issuer has no control over validity, the bank does and does so under financial rule set by state and federal regulation. Also if the check issue date was after the expiration date then its an unlawful offence, in WA state at least and many U.S. states have laws making it illegal to prematurely expire a check.

So long as the you are inside the issue date window you should be OK. Take it to an ATM and deposit it. The worst that can happen is that it comes back to you, and if they deny it they have 45 or 60 days to reissue, or you can put a lien on the issuer!

issue date is February 2, 2005 (less than 90 days), so who knows under which couch at the rebate center that this has been sitting all this time..

pretty shady it seems. I can try to deposit it I suppose but if this is how they operate I assume it won't get accepted and then I won't even have the check to show for it? Not sure how to proceed to get my money... I have the sneaking suspicion it's going to be difficult not to get screwed here...

Hobbes? or anyone with NI contact have any advice?

Just deposit it. Chances are it will be accepted. If not, they will return the check to you and you can raise hell about it.

Make a photocopy of it before you deposit it. Also Email me at jplewis01@comcast.net with me a low res scan of it with the RTN and Account Number blacked out, and I'll send it to Friedmann and see if there any issues depositing. Definitely seems someone was sitting on it. Keep THE Envelope! It will have a postmark on it you will need that to prove when it was sent. If it is postmarked June 30 or such you know it is suspect. If the check was dated Feb 02 2005 it may be expired too.

BTW what bank is it drawn on? is it a U.S. Bank or a European One?

As always, if you have any rebate issues, you can contact the rebate company directly at 888-314-9903 (US and Canada). If they cannot resolve your issue, please e-mail Stanton directly at information at stantondj dot com.

Occasionally, there are some issues with some submissions, but on the whole I think it was worth it, especially if you ask all the users who successfully received their checks and full version of TDJS 2.6
