Morning all, been using Traktor Scratch Pro, Audio 10, for nearly a year now. Been getting the usual signal problems & a friend has said I upgrade my cables I'm using as I have just used the basic ones that came with it.

Someone has pointed me towards these -

Any views or recommendations would be great...

    Thanks in advance...

Channel missing, also pitch isn't as stable as when I've used a friends soundcard.

Tbh it's more for peace of mind that I'm using best cables to get the absolute best sound.

PThose are just RCA cables. They are not actually upgrade cables for DVS systems. A quick search shows that you can buy the same cables on Amazon for 4x for $40US http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0001MQURO and $25US for the USB http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FZ292W/ref=mp_s_a_2?qid=1339413422&sr=8-2 which is $65USD or £41. That isn't even shopping round, I just went to be most obvious place.

Total rip off. As for 'usual signal problems' this is the first time I have ever seen anyone mention signal problems related to the quality of the standard cables on this forum.

    @ TheChid.

    Try: "d+ RCA"
There very top quality RCA cables. Expensive, but high quality, Dubfire uses them and I'm sure others do too. There quite hard to get hold of but type them in in google, and your find em. They come in Class A, B & C. Orange, Purple, Green, Grey.

As for USB, go over to DJ TechTools, they have a new USB Cable for $14.99. I'll be getting it myself!

Sorry I haven't posted URLs for the cables but I am on my phone! Hope this helps. Let me know.

    d+ is snake oil.

i recommend this as a reading. i can link to more comprehensive explanations if desired.

cables do not matter for audio quality. a study exists in which no perceptible difference between wire coat hangers (no, i'm not kidding) and ultra-expensive "audiophile" RCA cables was found.

for DJ use, don't buy unreliable bargain-basement cables with poor plugs or improper shielding. but, at the same time, don't worry about cables' electrical properties. these are just gonna be good enough whatever you buy.

yes...an important thing to look for in RCA cables (since they are unbalanced) is shielding...but usually this would matter more if you are running a long cable...the one that goes from the audio interface to the mixer is too short for it to really pick up interference on the way...

gold plated jacks & oxygen free copper are a good way to go...gold is a good conductor & won't rust or corrode ...same goes for OFC

I 2nd this. Look at how much money they make with ultra-ridiculous expensive HDMI cables. Same story.

actually, i'm using the cheapest RCAs i could get and i dont have your "ususal" problems. the reason for that must lie somwhere else...

what soundcard are you using and what soundcard did you use from your friend?

Audio 10. My friends is Audio 8.

I have a very unstable pitch compared to when I hook up my friends Audio 8 as well (all settings are the same ect). I'm starting to think my sound card has taken a knock because when I go to record through my Audio 10, one channel is quite low (think it's the left), then through my friends Audio 8 both channels are equal.

Just wanted to really get some decent cables to put my mind at ease really as when I do have issues in setting up I normally find myself looking at the basic cables that came with the Audio 10.

Other people seem to use these chunky black ones that are 'male to female', so the turntable plugs into the end of the cable rather than the turntable plugging directly into the sound card. They also seem to be labelled 'phono' & 'line'. Anyone have any idea which ones they are?

6 week turn around once sent off... May need to be replaced.

Anyone got a link to those black cables I was 'trying' to describe in my post previous.

They seem pretty standard, seen lots of people use them.
