Trying to figure this out, I have Thrill loaded in to my MK3 and I am not able to record the mouse automation inside the VST for the x/y parameters. The parameters show on the MK3 but with Auto locked and record enabled, nothing happens.

Seems that if the VST is loaded in Maschine and I am recording and move the x/y parameter inside with my mouse, with auto locked on the parameters should be recorded but they are not. I can't go back and re-record the x/y parameters afterwards so that's not an option.

Am I missing something to be able to do this?

After a quick look in the manual, I believe you have to map the x axis to a cc number and the y aswell. So it should by possible with a XY MIDI controller.

Maschine does not support MIDI effects/virtual controllers. You cannot send MIDI data from a plugin into the sequencer.

If you want to use your mouse/trackpad you have to sample the performance.

Also, what you are trying to do, I don’t tjink is possible in any DAW. Unless you use it as a “MIDI Effect” to trigger/control itself

Thank you for that, unfortunately I can't go out and get a XY MIDI controller but the option to record is better than nothing. Really wish these interfaces would be a bit more intuitive. If you can manipulate the sound with a mouse, you should be easily able to record that within Maschine.

The only way I have done this before and it was not ideal was to have in Maschine one instance drawn and extended out to however many bars you need and then to go back and hit auto and then hope your creativity fits within however many bars you stretched out and record your x/y automation with the knobs. It's a inspiration killer unfortunately for me, which was why I was curious about the mouse and recording the automation that way. Seems simple enough?

I don't have it but looking at the web page for it, given that the XY is such a big part of the instrument, I find it hard to believe NI did not make it possible to record XY automation. If the XY's are mapped to params in Maschine, which you say they are, then are they not controllable with Maschine's knobs rather than the mouse? Surely that should be recordable?

Yes of course. The OP was already doing that with two knobs. As mentioned above.

You can not record mouse movements. Not possible.
Maybe there is an option in the plugin that will capture mouse movements, but you can not print them to the Maschine sequencer. It is just not possible.

The routing internally is like this:
MIDI input -> sequencer -> plugin.
