I would like to record any sound, that my Windows 7 produces.
For example I would like to record the sound from a flash movie playing in Firefox.

Therefore, I need kind of Stereo Mix device. My internal sound card Creative X-Fi has the possibility to record from "What you hear"

But for the Komplete Audio 6, I only have following recording devices:
    Input 1/2
    Input 3/4
    S/PDIF Input

But what I need is a selectable "Stereo Mix" Device.

    Is there any solutions?

    Recording with S/PDIF

i wanted to do the exact same thing. i plugged an RCA in my S/PDIF output in my Realtek soundcard and made this output the default. then i plugged the RCA in KA6 S/PDIF input. my idea was to record the sound from my internet browser with Cubase LE 6 through the KA 6 S/PDIF input.

I CAN record and my idea works, BUT i have some troubles with the syncing. i only tried this twice, it worked the first time without problems, but this time my recording have some occational crackling noise.

Anyone can help me with this crackle?
    ---
this only works for me if i set the KA6 to sync external. i think this is where the problem should be found, but i do not know how to set the KA6 to clock internally
    ---
    I figured it out!

It is fine to set the KA6 to external clock, but the Audio Processing buffer in the KA6 CP needs to be increased.

you don't need a stereo mix when you have SPDIF between two soundcards

Cheers, i am so happy i fixed the isssue

i think with the realtek sound card (like many others) you actually have a stereo mix option... go into control panel>sound>recording>right click on any device and select "show disabled devices" you will be surprised what pops up!

stereo mix has been deprecated on most sound cards, whether they are onboard or dedicated. wikipedia confirms this in its entry on soundcards.
