    hello,

i did a search first and didn't have much luck finding an answer for this, but please forgive me if i missed it and am repeating a simple inquiry...

using scratch pro with an external mixer, and am attempting to record a mix. i audio setup is very basic as i am only using two decks, and the routing is just set up to facilitate that, much of it the default settings.

when i press record, i do not see any activity in the audio recorder meter, but it is recording as i can see the file increase in size. so, it appears that there is no input to the recorder- while it may be creating a file there is no audio for it.

i am guessing my routing is in need of editing, and have messed around with it in an attempt to see a signal in the audio recorder without any luck.

i assume these files are essentially playing internally and being processed as such, so can't understand the simple routing i am missing that must be necessary to get this to work.

i even took an rca cable from one of my external mixer outs and put it to the in on 7/8 (channel d), where input is enabled, and still am not getting any signal.

sorry for the long explanation, but the bottom line is that i need to figure out routing to get the signal to the recorder and i am not having much luck. any help is appreciated.

i also notice that the "native mix recorder" has been removed from this release... surely that doesn't mean they have removed the ability to record mixes internally?

    cheers

    hi aep,

increasing of size isn't an indication for a fine record... :)
u can record the deepest silence and the loudest scream with the same result. the "wav" output record all lossless

    ur routing sounds well...

in the preferences input routing channel d ... u have to see a gain pulse/signal (i don't know the right word in english) when u play a track. Is it?

check ur mixer output first... the most mixer have outputs for main, record and booth. is there a signal?

hi, and thanks for the response.

understood on your first comment, believe me!

as for your question, i am not seeing any input on that channel. and yes, my mixer has all those outputs and they all work fine.

my whole point is that i shouldn't even need to send the signal from my mixer back into the program via the audio8 as the sound is being processed internally- i should be able to record from the internal signal. if there was no internal signal then why would i have gain adjustments for it?

i just plugged in from one of my mixer outs as a test. granted i could have messed that part up, but it sure seems simple enough.

i am sure this is a routing problem and i am not having much luck in fixing it.

alot of people have read this thread. NOBODY has tried to record a mix with traktor scratch pro and an external mixer? come on, help a brother out!

    Dude

Here are screen shots of my routing..... also, make sure the audio to your 2nd output channel on your mixer is ok i.e. the channel you have routed into channel D on the Audio 8... this should sort you out, hopefully. If you are still having probelms, let me know...
