    Hi all,

I'm currently working only with Maschine so I don't have a DAW to record into. I would like to plug a bass guitar directly into the MIDI port on Maschine. I do have a keyboard but my skills are pretty basic. Does anyone have any experience working with a MIDI bass converter? I would appreciate any feedback. I do know that the midi converters don't track everything perfectly, but I don't plan on doing anything too complex on the bass guitar either.

    Thanks!

you need to the buy the roland gr-55 and the gr-3b pick-up to do this because the you need special cable and connections. And you re right, the gr-3 pick-up won't transmit midi perfectly, but the gr-55 has an onboard synth/sampler that can be used with the original bass tone or without it, and transmit midi, so you have three options for creating sound with this product.
