Hi folks, am having trouble recording guitar into Maschine. My relatively new setup is Maschine MK3, and a MacBook running GarageBand. I also have a Toneport UX-1. The MK3, UX-1 and a couple of keyboards go into a USB hub and from there into the MacBook. Generally I just listen through headphones plugged into the MacBook.

I'm having trouble figuring out what the various audio settings should be to be able to record guitar into the MK3, though. Should I plug the guitar straight into the back of the MK3, and if so what should the device in Audio / Preferences be set to? Or should I plug the guitar into the UX-1, and if so what should I set the device to?

    Any ideas much appreciated.

The UX-1 is probably an audio interface of its own. So you'd want to choose one of the 2 to be your interface. I'd say plug your headphones into the UX1, and your guitar, and then make sure to select the UX1 under your Maschine Preferences-Audio-Device. Then you'd want to choose that as the input on your guitar sound in Maschine. This might help a little:

Like this or use the toneport as already suggested
