Whats up everyone, i recently made the switch from serato to tractor.
I'm having a difficult time recording for some strange reason.
Im using tractor scratch pro 2 with an X1 controller. I was told to set the record crap to internal mode under preferences. When i click record, as i am mixing no matter what channel the crossfader is on, everything is recorded. If I'm playing the left deck and cuing up the right (in my headphones) anything I'm doing on the right side you can hear (remember crossfader is on the left channel). Even when i use the X1 controller no matter what you hear everything I'm doing. Nothing is split.

    Set up
    2Pioneer cdj 900's
    1Behringer ddm4000
    Tracktor s2
    X1

    Please help me out thanks

I'm in the same boat friend. So far, I haven't been able to get a good answer from anyone, but at least we're not alone. I am using the VMS 4.1 Traktor Edition from American Audio, and I am experiencing the exact same thing as you. If I find out what to do to fix it, I will let you know. I would appreciate the same.

    Thanks!

Okay, after some searching, it seems I have come across a solution. I have included a link to a forum post on the American DJ forum that should help. It helped me. Also, I copied and pasted the important info so you don't have to search all of the comments. This method is really only designed for my controller (VMS 4.1) but you may be able to use some of the same concepts for your controller. If nothing else, it's a start.

I've got two options for recording with Traktor and the VMS4/ 4.1

This one is thanks to K3NND0 and works perfect.

1 Set the VMS to 8-out mode with the switch on front of the VMS.

2 Set the channels in ADJ ASIO driver settings as follows:

    Midilog 1 = Out 5/ Out 6
    Midilog 2 = Out 1/ Out 2
    Midilog 3 = Out 3/ Out 4
    Midilog 4 = Out 7/ Out 8
    Master rec = In 5/ In 6

3 In Traktor/ Preferences/ Output Routing set Mixing Mode to External and the channels to:

    Output Channel A = Out 1/ Out 2
    Output Channel B = Out 3/ Out 4
    Output Channel C = Out 5/ Out 6
    Output Channel D = Out 7/ Out 8

4 In Traktor/ Preferences/ Input Routing set the channels to:

    Input Channel A = In 1/ In 2
    Input Channel B = In 3/ In 4
    Input Channel C = In 5/ In 6
    Input Channel D = In 7/ In 8

5 In Traktor/ Preferences/ Recording, set Source to Extern and External Input to Channel C

If you want to keep the VMS in 4-out mode (switch on front of the VMS) this is another option to record with Traktor.

1 If you're not using the master or booth output, connect it to line input 2 or 3.
Otherwise use a tape/record output from your amplifier.

2 In Traktor/ Preferences/ Input Routing, set Input Channel A to In 1 and In 2 if you connected the VMS output to line input 2, or to In 3 and In 4 for line input 3.

3 In Traktor/ Preferences/ Recording, set Source to Extern and External Input to Channel A

You should now be able to record all audio coming from the VMS with Traktor.

@djrollerx lol I'm going to try this now and see what i can work out....also are you able to play 2 tracks at once or 4? I'm trying to figure out how to play 4
    ---
i went to go set the output routing to 1/2 , 3/4, and so on, however it only gives me the option to select output L or output R in any of them, as well as in the input routing channels. there are no numbers on L and R channels
