Nope. Traktor only records in raw WAV as it's the simplest audio format that has little processing overhead to keep it out of the way of Traktor resource hungry core functions. Convert with programs like Audacity/LAME or iTunes.

Apparently, NI prefers to license just an MP3 decoder as opposed to licensing the entire codec (which would be more expensive). So, you can play back existing MP3s with Traktor but you cannot generate MP3s.

It's no biggie, though. Download the latest LAME binary from Rarewares. LAME is widely regarded as the best implementation of the MP3 codec. The ZIP you can download there includes examples on how to use it. I recommend starting with something like "lame -V2 MyMix.wav MyMix.mp3"

There are a lot of frontends for LAME in case you don't want to mess with the command line.

Thanks for the explanations, and also thanks for the link for the converter.

Hope the converter works fine :)

If you never used Windows' command line, I recommend you use a frontend for lame. Unless of course, you don't mind learning the command line. To open a command-line window, open the start menu, type 'cmd' and press enter. In the command window, navigate to the WAV (e.g., "cd Downloads") and run the command I provided.

Alternative, a good graphical frontend for lame is dbpoweramp (21-day fully functional trial). completely free and still very good is lamedropXPd, also available at rarewares.
