is it possible in traktor pro to record only one deck while both play? I want to scratch over my hip hop songs but only record & export the deck that is scratching

can this be done? I know how to export a mix, I just want to do it without the instrumental

    thx

You can put the volume fader down to zero on the 'playing' deck and click it's CUE button and leave the 'scratching' deck's fader on full and it's CUE button off. Now set the MIX knob (by the MAIN volume knob) near 50%. You will hear the 'playing' deck on your headphones, but it won't be recorded. The only downside is that you will not be able to cut out the playing deck via the cross fader, only the scratching deck... depending on what you're doing, this might not be an issue at all. This will also work on an external mixer as well; it must have a MIX knob though.

Another method is to record using a third party recording software, where you can use multitrack recording and record each output channel or decks separately. The Audio 8 DJ does not allow for such internal routing but some other audio cards do.
