Solved recording when in event editor.

Hi.

I would have a newbee question.

Is there a way recording my notes or sounds when i am in the event editor.(maschine controller mkiii)
Most of the time i dont know where i am at in the timeline, and the event editor would help me to visualize that.

Or is there anything else which shows me where i am at the timeline during recording?

I don't believe so, but I've wanted to be able to do this as well. Event editor shows a clear visualization of what notes are where in your pattern, but you apparently need to close this helpful view in order to record anything. A bit frustrating for sure.

 

I never thought about this until now... and now I want this feature!
Currently pressing the pads selects the sounds, there could be a "record enable" button, would be cool.

 

Not sure if this is what you mean but if you are a Studio or MK3 press the Arrange button and you should see Scenes and Patterns. Go to the Patterns tab,tap record, and you will see what you record on the screen in real-time.

Basically it’s in the Arranger view and not in the Events view.

Yep. This feature alone is probably why I love the Studio so much. I get instant feedback without having to look at my computer. However I’ve always thought the separation of the events and arranger view (which also has an events mode) was a little clunky.

do you know how long I've been requesting this feature. Now i find by accident, it was always possible, just not obvious?
This one feature, the ability to see the events as you record them, should have been a key promotion of the new controller.

My feature suggestion was to have the events view selectable when recording realtime in keyboard or pads mode.

 

You don’t need to be in arranger. Just hit the Keyboard button followed by the events button, then you can see the events screen while you play/record notes.

This will only work if you don’t have Select enable in the events editor, otherwise the pads will be used to select notes rather than play/record notes.
