Would it be right to assume that if recording within PRO then this will use addtional processing power. I have an AMD dual 1.9 so its not that bad. But, I also have an audio 4 and i am considering running a second line output into my desktop sound card and recording that way instead.

My question is : Does recording within PRO use a lot of power and if so would it be wiser utilising this power for running the software at a low latency rather than recording. If recording uses minamal power then i guess the benefits of the audio output are negligible. I guess quality is also a question. What quality does PRO record at cause my sound card is good

    Thank Guys

Your hard drive will be strained a lot more than the processor. So it won't be a big deal recording on the same machine processor-wise.

Also, there is the USB bandwidth issue... make sure your audio output sample rate is at 44.1kHz, and nothing higher.

Your desktop will likely have a poor sound card... if you don't care about sound quality that much, recording with another machine is a good idea for more stability.

just give it a try at home!

i'm using FX, key lock, 2-3 decks with timecode + a faderfox and i'm recording flawlessly live with my audio 8 that at the same time serves for the timecode.

note that the recoring is in wav-format, so you should make sure you have enough disk space. (1h = ca. 650 mb)
