Do you own the full version of Guitar Combos, or do you own the Behringer edition?

Also, what sequencer/host/DAW do you use?

You have the Behringer edition of the combos, and it's not a plug-in, it's only a single program. Because of that, you can't load it into Cubase, or Pro Tools or other "Digital Audio Workstations" or DAWs.

You'll have to use the tapedeck to save single audio tracks, but I see no way without a plug-in mode.

You should contact tech support -- they may know some tricks for you.

I have run into this same problem. It won't work with audacity or Kristal as far as I can figure out because of the ASIO driver. Audacity says due to copyrights or some sort of nonsense they aren't allowed to use it, ASIO drivers, or let it be used. Behringer has been of about zero help so far. And I can't seem to find a user forum for the guitar link anywhere.
I did discover a program called Reaper, shareware, although you can use it forever without buying into it. But it is aiming at being a top drawer professional recording program and the 208 page uses manual seems to back that up, BUT it will recognize the guitar link and accept VST's and a whole shipload of other things. It also has a steep learning curve. interesting is that it is constantly being updated, the manual too. But for now I don't want to spends months learning how to use it.
Bottom line for me is if I don't get some actual help pretty soon I going to go back to tape decks, at least they record anything without arguing or being fussy or needing 50,000 add-at a huge cost and all the rest of the crap in this digital world.
There is something to be said for simplicity. Of course in the old style analouge world you actually have to play the instruments; no cutting and pasting, looping, or cheating allowed.
I will say that so far I am very disappointed in the guitar link and the combo amps as included, ok it's an interesting way to practice by yourself and pretend you own up to 3 different amps but beyond that there seems to be no other value, at least to me, at the moment. And unless I can find someone out there willing to share answers and real solutions in ordinary words to my simple questions. It is frustrating to constantly be caught between two or more companies who keep saying ask the other one. I just can't for the life of me understand why they included software that won't work with the product as alluded to.
But then considering how few people are on this forum and how many units they must have sold it would follow that there are way more people out there that figured out how to make it all work, and those are the ones I'm looking for. But so far I have not found a guitar link users forum. Have any of you? If you have would you please post the link.
I would settle for just being able to use the guitar link, without the combo amps, to record what's running around in my brain.
