I'm thinking about getting a laptop as a second computer in the next month or two and would like to load my copy of Komplete 5 onto it - is this going to be a problem? I've got it registered on my current desktop at the moment, and would like to keep it registered on this computer, but would also like to keep using the software when I'm away from home.

    Nope.

Just install and activate; Komplete allows installs on three machines.

Just a question. What if a desktop then breaks down and you need to reinstall the Komplete 5. I had a virus on my desktop, but have managed to get rid of it. But I am thinking of reformating the hardesk. Will I then use my nbr 2 of my installs and only have one ekstra left ?
    Thanks
    Michael

    Hello Michael,

usually there will not be generated a new hardware profile if you install the same operating system on the same hard disc. However, even if the hardware fingerprint changes you will still be able to activate.

    Hello reposity,

it is based on a hardware fingerprint which is part of the activation. If the hardware stays the same, it is not expected that this fingerprint will change. As I wrote, we will not stop you even if it is a new fingerprint, but since all activations are tracked on our registration server, we will react on obvious cases of misuse, though.

3 Machines? Does this apply to all NI software?

Nope. Just Komplete. Kore can also be used on three machines, but I'm thinking that's only if you also have Komplete; I'm not sure about without Komplete.

    Hello,

usually all products such as e.g. FM8 (installed as a single licence, so not as part of a Komplete bundle) can be used on two computers.
    Exception:

    • Komplete bundles
    • Kore 2
For these the licence agreements allow to have them installed on three computers.

Okay...so I finally got my laptop but am now thinking that putting everything from Komplete might be too much (all I really want is Absynth and Massive on the laptop as, like I said before, it is only a second machine). Is there any way around this rather than filling up my HD?

Sure. Just choose what you want to install when you run the Komplete installer.

Really? Okay, cool...I don't remember having that option when I first installed - just putting in disc after disc (each one named in another language - German? - so I didn't know which individual program was on each disc) - and loading it up indiscriminately.
