Registration/Password/Update Nonsense !

    Well, I for one, am getting so tired of this RIDICULOUS password / registration / login b.s. !! Let's see - I have the original CD of Pro-52 that I PAID for, I have the serial number, hmmm... STILL can't update to Pro-53... What ? I need a registration password ? But I mailed that in MONTHS ago... Do it again ? OK...

    OK.. did that. Got a username, got a password. OK - enter that in... ACCESS DENIED. What ? I did it all as ordered, and still can't get the Pro-53 update... What in HELL gives here...

    A question : Why is it, when I have the original CD, the serial number, that I have to jump through ALL of these stupid hoops just to update my software ?!? What an insult to our intelligence.... Isn't having the original CD that we constantly have to insert and the serial number enough ? Why do we have to do all of this nonsense JUST to get an updater, when the stupid updater wouldn't even run anyway, unless we had the CD and serial number..?!?

    N-I - I think you're taking this copy-protection thing just a LITTLE too far, and pissing people off in the process...

    Just thought you'd want to know the fruits of your labors, here..

    I couldn`t agree with you more...

    This access denied / password fiasco is just ridiculous. I`ve just wasted the best part of two hours and am still no closer to the damned updater.

    Hmmm, don`t reckon I`ll be adding any more products from these people to my collection in a hurry ;-(

    Problem solve!

    You have to register the pro 53 using the new serial no. before you can download the update (not mentioned on the NI update website) an then you can download the file using your username + password!

    Me too.
    My password doesn,t work either
    Tried to look at my profile but keep getting ' cannot find server' message.
    Same when I go to registration page.
    I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer.........

    I'm in the same boat here. I am a registered user of both Pro 5 and Pro 52 but I had registered some time ago using the old method and haven't updated the registration. I also do not have any serial number as the Pro 52 never had one. When I got the update it was a cd and a manual...nothing more. I can't update as I don't have a serial number. The instructions say to check the 'About ' box but there's no number there and as far as I can remember it never had a serial number. All in all very disconcerting. I am also a registered user of Absynth and FM7.

    Now what...send the manual by mail to Germany and wait a month for the reply...blah!

    Why does my name and password allow me to download Reaktor files, But not the Pro 53 update??? Do I have to get a new username and password just for the Pro 53?

    This totally sucks, I had this problem before with this website. NI makes great products. If only there website could be as good. Please make it more simple NI.

    Same problem

    Nonstop hassles. First it wont take my Pro52 serial number. Finally I figure out how to format it (which isn't documented) ... then I click the "click here for Pro-53 serial number" link like 10 times since the stupid window never returns; so i wind up with 10 emails from NI with a different Pro53 serial number for each computer I tried from.

    None of the Pro53 serial numbers will register because they all say they have already been registered. Without registerring the Pro53, I can't access the download.

    At least I know where my Pro52 CD is if I can ever d/l the updater. This is a hassle, and if you can't install the upgrade without the Pro52 disc, where is the problem with letting me d/l the updater without registering first??

    Frustrated.

    OK, I followed the steps:

    I re/registerred my Pro52(was originally registerred thru Steinberg)
    I got my Pro 53 serial #(Why do I need this?)SInce the the 3rd step is to enter my user name and password,WHICH DOES NOT WORK? Where does the Pro 53 serial# fit into this madness???

    Here's what I did when I finally figured this stupid **** out:

    1) Registered my Pro-52 (upgrade from pro-five) using my original pro-five Serial (as Arbiter had told me to after I complained that there had been no Serial with my paid upgrade)

    2) Registered for my Pro-53 serial

    3) Registered my Pro-53 serial

    4) Downloaded the pro-53 updater after spending much of the night trying to figure out why I couldn't log in (I had phoned NI in Berlin at around 6pm UK time and the NI webmaster picked up the phone saying to try later as the server was overloaded.)

    However a big hand goes to HJS (in this thread) for setting me straight. And as for those dodgy NI instructions!

    Hope this helps somebody.

    the pro 53 update odyssey....

    It's downloading as I write this note. It would have made more sense if it read:

    1. register the Pro 52
    2. Get registration # for Pro 53
    3. RE/REGISTER for PRO 53.

    Then you're qualified to get download.

    I Have Recieved The PRO-53 Serial Number (4 Times ?)

    I Have tried to register the pro-53 but it tells me the serial is already registered

    I Try to Download PRO-52 Update

    I am asked to enter UserName & PassWord

    Hi Foolhardy. Keep trying. I got several Pro 53 serials as well, and finally it let me register it, then my username and pw worked!

    Error: Serial Number Already Registered

    xxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

    This serial has already been registered. Please use the 'Edit Data' action from the start menu.
