    Hi,

I want to reinstall my OS. Do I have to unregister my products before reinstalling OS and then my Products again? Or can I leave it as it is and simply install Traktor3 and Traktor Scratch after my fres OS installation?

    Thanks for help.

    Hi dbsoundz,

I would do in the following order:

    - Re-install your OS.

    - Re-install your Native Instruments products and update everything to the latest versions.

    - Re-activate all your software.

In case that the same system profile is found, you just get the same keys back from our registration server.

In case that a new profile is found, new keys will be generated. You can de-activate older keys then on our website.

In case that a new profile is found and you have already used all of your allowed installations, you will get an error message to deactivate an older system id. In this case, you need to de-activate them prior to a new activation.

    Marius,

I am a Komplete 4 customer that is getting ready for a "spring cleanup" over here as well. With respect to your install order list:

    1. Re-install your OS.

    2. Re-install your Native Instruments products and update everything to the latest versions.

    3. Re-activate all your software.

During step 2 - can I simply install the very latest updates of each K4 product - without even bothering with the original K4 DVD 1 installer - and then move to step 3?

There are so many updates since the original release of K4 - I would rather ensure that I have the latest and greatest upon initial install rather than having to lay out the Sept 2006 versions - then overwrite everything with the latest updates.

Or is there a particular set of registry entries that are created upon a fresh install using the original K4 DVD 1 installer?

    Update when you can.

    Cheers!

    VP

    Hi VP,

you definitely should install from DVD first. Some updates expect an existing installation, some might run but will miss the library (e.g. Reaktor). If you still have all your sample libraries in place, you just need to install DVD 1 and can ignore all others, since DVD1 includes all product installations.

    Marius,

Cool. Yes - all my sample libraries reside on a separate drive and those files (due to their size) remain static during any re-installation.

Can you comment on any progress being made on fixing the DVD 1 installer for K4? I encountered issues with Akoustic Piano for sure when trying to point to installer to the existing library - it seems to get confused with which directory to use.

Also - any chance that a "refreshed" install DVD might be made available to customers that actually contains all the latest versions? I would pay for a new DVD 1 disc that allowed me to install all the latest versions the very first time.

Does the original DVD 1 (Fall 2006) still ship with retail versions of K4 even now?

    Cheers!

    VP

    Hi VP,

you should refer to the readme on the first installation disk. I know that especially Akoustik Piano made some trouble when you did not follow the readme exactly. In case that you run into the same problem, please refer to the section below.

We actually have newer Komplete 4 disks, but they are not compatible with the version and serial you have, so this is not an option, unfortunately. Also, we already released updates thereafter as well.

Akoustik Piano does not find library after installation
    --------------------------------------------------

In case the installation of Akoustik Piano has not been successful (problems in finding the library) while installing the whole Komplete 4 package, please install the Akoustik Piano samples manually. In order to install the Akoustik Piano samples manually please proceed as followed:

Please enter DVD 5 (resp. 6, 7 and 8) from the Komplete 4 installer package. Open the DVD. Now, if you want to install the 24-bit version of Akoustik Piano, open the folder called "Samples". If you want to install the 16-bit version open the folder "Samples16". In this sample folder (resp. Samples16-folder) you will find a folder called Bechstein (resp. Boesendorfer, ConcertGrand and Steingraeber). Drop this folder onto the folder called "Samples" which can be found in the Akoustik Piano Library folder on your hard disc. The Akoustik Piano Library folder has already been installed to your hard disc by the Komplete 4 installer from DVD 1.
During the installation of Komplete 4 you were asked to name a location for the Akoustik Piano Library. At this location the Akoustik Piano Library folder can be found.
