    Hello all,
I am trying to reinstall Factory Library (deleted it from the old location - an external hard drive) and was told there's not enough space ( I am aware there needs to be free space on the internal hard drive as well). i've done a lot of deleting on Macbook and then there is this strange happening: sometimes it shows me that there's 80+ GB available on internal hard drive, sometimes that there is 18 GB available on hard drive. NI seems to think it's the latter as it requires to free more space. Has anyone had similar problem?
    Best regards,
    Monika

First of all CleanMyMac is kinda garbage, but if it makes you sleep better at night...
MacOS can take care of itself and its filesystem is not prone to fragmentation in the same way Windows file systems used to be.

Other than that, the way the OS reports free space to third party software doesn't always mach reality because of symbolic links.

Only trust the OS HDD preferences dialog about how much free space you have.

EDIT: This is the official Apple link on how to free up storage space on your Mac https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206996
