Tone2 - Electra2 synth is now NKS ready (tagged, previews etc).

The controller map for this is quite extensive due to the layering and multiple oscillators in this synth and offers some deep control but simply cannot cover anything. If you are interested to spend some time creating a map that you would like to see included with this release feel free to contact me and send it through.

This was quite a challenge mainly because of the clunky browser and the "free for all" user presets which make a bit of a mess of things but finally (thankfully) it's been processed into a first version.

This release was designed to create a bank for any artist that has 4+ presets to their name and group these into Collections of 50 artists so you can narrow down a search if needed. Any artist that has less than 4 presets was added to a "Various Artists" bank. almost all presets were saved to NKS but there are some cases where presets are duplicated in the library so the duplicates were discarded automatically. Also, in some cases where an artist has a single preset that is less than 2 stars, it was discarded also. There will surely be some presets that were skipped that should be in there so please let me know if there are any worthy ones and they will be added in an update.

Speaking of updates, the tagging details in Curve 2 are very basic so only the basic tagging could be applied automatically. This will be improved over time by hand tagging the files but of course to hand tag 4900 files it will take some time. An update will be released with more tagging down the track. Additionally, I will release an update every now and then to include any newer files that have been released

    Hi,

I have installed Omnisphere but only with the AU plugin (Mac). I realise now that I probably should have installed the VST version too for the NKS library (which I purchased from you) to work in Maschine. I have followed your video instructions and can see and hear the plugin and patches in Komplete Kontrol but when I Browse using the Maschine hardware I can only see an image of Omnisphere and no patches. (see attached image). I can see and hear Omnisphere in the Maschine software browser but it is the hardware I am talking about. So my question is: how do i install the VST version of Omnisphere? Do I have to uninstall the entire Omnisphere plugin and then reinstall - or is there a quicker way? Thanks.

Not sure how to go about installing the VST version since i'm a PC user but I would think the Spectrasonics installer could give you the option to modify the installation and simply install the VST version. Should be no need to reinstall the Steam folder, just the software part. It doesn't make any difference to seeing Omnisphere listed within either KK of Maschine if the plugin is installed itself, only when it comes to launching a preset, if the VST is not found within the software then the error "Plugin not found" will be thrown.

For the Maschine issue I see you are in the "Sounds" tab. You need to make sure first that the User library path for the Komplete Kontrol NKS is added into Maschine as a user library (not sure if it is by default) and then do a library scan in Maschine as well.

You then need to click the Browse button on Maschine and switch to the User library. I have a Maschine studio I use for testing but honestly, have never used it for doing anything with.

Just reinstall it (or run an updater) and select VST this time too

You're better off running Omnisphere from Komplete Kontrol anyway, Maschine will ruin any patches that rely on aftertouch (which is a fair few)

    Hi

I have tried reinstalling but no option came up to select VST.

    Thanks.

Try and send an email to Spectrasonics. Unlike NI they are super fast at a reply, typically I get a reply within 1 day. You may have to completely uninstall then re-install. Again, not sure on Mac but windows it gived the option to repair, modify which you can then choose what to install (tho AU is not an option for win).

If you login to your Spectrasonics account and download the Spectrasonics updater you can install manually. It just unpacks a bunch of folders - the plugins are inside 'Spectrasonics Updater\Mac\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\VST' - you don't have to run the installer if you just need the VST, just copy it into your VST folder.

I have contacted Spectrasonics but they just told me to check if Omnisphere was in VST plugins folder, which it was. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall Omnisphere. I have completed that process and once again watched your video on Native Instruments 3rd Party NKS Library Installation (Mac). I think everything is in the right place. I can load up Omnisphere in KK User section and can see and hear all the sound previews of the presets. However in Maschine I cannot get the same result. I can load up Omnisphere but it does not show all the patches in the Maschine browser. I have checked in the User section of Maschine but Omnisphere is not available there.

You need to manually add the Komplete Kontrol user library path to Maschine and scan it (in options)

Have you checked in Menu > Prefs > User Library that the path to the location you installed the NKS files has been added and that a scan has been done.

It 100% should appear if its been done correctly:

Hi, yes I missed one of the locations - SSD/Users/Shared/NI Resources/

I have added that location and Rescanned but I've still got nothing in Users in Maschine - see Screen shot. I'm obviously doing something wrong still...

When you did a rescan did it take some time with a progress meter showing all the files scanning in? My guess is no, so double check your paths to tyour NKS location again and post the screen shots showing the location on your drive and the entry you set in Maschine

I have to say that it did take only a minute or so to rescan last time. I have restarted Maschine and scanned again and this time it took a heck of a long time to scan User Content. The good news is that I can now see Omnisphere in the User section of Maschine. Progress! But I'm getting an error 'Omnisphere cannot be loaded'. I have attached four screenshots.

If it says a plugin cannot be loaded, that is because Maschine is unable to locate Omnisphere.vst.

You need to check/confirm that the VST is installed and detected by Maschine (again, in prefs > plugins):

    upload_2018-9-19_10-3-4.png

If you see Omnisphere in there already, it could be the AU plugin version so if you did indeed manage to install the VST plugin, you need to check your locations and make sure the path to your VST folder is set.

As you say just the AU version is in there. However the VST version is installed, as it was prior to the reinstall of Omnisphere. The path in Prefs > Plugins was Library so I have removed that and instead added Library/Audio/Plugins, Library/Audio/Plugins/Components and Library/Audio/Plugins/VST just to be on the safe side. Then I rescanned. It works! I never doubted you and really appreciate the assistance you've given. Thanks.

For Maschine you just need Library/Audio/Plugins, the others are inside that anyway. For Komplete Kontrol it only loads VST so you just need Library/Audio/Plugins/VST
