I'm happy to see that you can still have multiple instances of cmdr open at the same time, but it seems I can no longer copy from one open instance to another? That was the greatest "build a new mapping fast" tool of all, for someone like me who has a deep backlog of mappings and who likes to pull pieces from multiple mappings together into new mappings.

Do not open CMDR multiple instances. Instead, open several files inside the single instance
I believe this was always the behaviour; and I dont recall changing anything on the copy paste implementation

Gotcha. Maybe that is how I used to do it - I hadn't tried using the old version for about the last year or more, after it seemed to no longer work properly. But I have confirmed that the method you described does work, so thank you for helping me out!

One note, which was a little gripe I had on the older version as well, but it would be nice if you could separate the Remix Deck from the Slot for those commands that are deck/slot specific, making it easier to copy a large set of commands for, say, Deck C and use them for Deck D, and only need to change the Deck for the whole batch rather than need to do all of the Deck C Slot 1 commands together, all of the Deck C Slot 2 commands together, etc., and the commands that are not slot dependent as yet another group edit. It isn't a big deal if you only have a handful of commands, but in the case of a step sequencer mapping, you're talking about what could be hundreds and hundreds of commands. I guess there are improved sorting options in this update, so maybe that eliminates the gripe (I haven't tried them out yet), but just a thought.

I've implemented the step sequencer as well, so I know exactly what you mean.

Yes this was addressed by being able to filter on any partial string, and on any column.
To simulate "OR" matchings I've duplicated some columns, eg "Command2"
Only limitation is to click around the devices first to avoid a initialization bug. there will be a warning.

    ----
    Other useful features:
    - CTRL+T: quadruplicate any selection to all 4 decks. It even changes the comments
    - S_N_R: manual search and replace comments, incluiding partial strings
    - lots of new commands to rotate command numbers, modfiers, assignemnts

All this stuff works for any selection of commands

Using the latest features , my current workflow for major changes is
    - select the feature of interest by filtering on comments (eg: padfx rolls)
    - delete deck B/C/D
    - redesign deck A at will
    - test deck A
    - CTRL+T to regenerate all 4 decks

see also automations / CTRL+Y to octoplicate pads

    ---
Another pattern is to operate directly on "Traktor settings.tsi", make periodic backups, and simply restart traktor completely instead of importing the TSI by hand

No, I was in error - you have the same options in cmdr that are in Traktor proper. Not sure why NI has it that way, but that's how it is.

    Hi.

I'm trying to build a tsi for a roland DJ-505. spying on the output of serato, it is sending notes like C-2, and 'data entry(coarse)' and 'LSB'.

Is there any way to send these in traktor? I was hoping CMDR might let me but it doesn't

No. Traktor can only send 7-bit Note and CC messages.
    Even sending 14-bit messages is a no-go.
    https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/send-14-bit-tempo-adjust-midi-message.192479/

The midi standard has a lot more specialized messages.

The solution is use bome as a middle man.
At first use bome to generate only these messages, uisng RAW send if really necessary. Send unused CCs from traktor to bome with blend=on to transfer any state like modifiers if needed. Design the rest of the mapping as ususal in cmdr.

    ----
At a later stage you will appreciate that it is far easier to make complex behaviours in bome than in traktor.
    https://github.com/pestrela/dj_kb#BOME-mappings-migration

For me this meant moving dozens of modifiers into bome, and avoiding the slow preferences problem in the process:

Do you guys have an editor program for Traktor Kontrol S3 Mk3's deplorable MIDI mode? Cause it's not available to be configured in the controller editor for no goddamn reason.

are we discussing the S4 mk3 or the S3?
    both are supported by cmdr.

what happens when you open the TSI in CMDR?
