Thank you so much for your hard work Jester, you rock and are a gem to this community.

If you make an installer for Windows, I would be happy to help build one for Mac. I've been thinking about making my own scripts to install for my own needs.

Thanks, I would need help to make one for Mac as I know zero about the OS. It would be pretty "simple" in that it would simply copy the files from the zipped database/preset folders to the correct location BUT this is more challenging than one thinks.

I started a while ago mainly to help blind users but have just gone back to test a few more things out. One of the things I want to happen is for the user to be able to choose to install to a User Library location (based off the locations they have set in Maschine/Komplete Kontrol... these are also separate and need to be resolved too) and select which location they want to install to. For this I need to read the komplete.db file which I have already coded, but I also want the ability to choose to install to a location that can be added to the Factory location. This is a bit trickier to do because I have to create a path for a factory library location and have this create a registry entry and custom xml file. That's all easy enough, the issue is the differences in how people choose to install things and the fact that the tool I would create would not be digitally signed and so would probably become detected as a virus given the fact it would access registry and user data. I'm not a high level programmer, I am self taught mostly and learn as I go so there are loads of things I do not know.

Updating existing files is also a bit complicated for the fact users sometimes tend to just move things and unless they direct the installer to the correct folder it will just install a duplicate so I kind of need to create registry entries to store where files were installed and then warn if they are no longer there. It also has to be fully accessibility friendly so blind users can use it. So while it would be simple in concept, it would take weeks to actually program and test correctly since some of the functionality I have to learn myself as I go and at the end of the day, it could be flexible but needs to be as simple, straight forward to use and manage and as reliable as just copying the files as it is.

I did toy with the idea of having a cloud update manager kind of thing but in reality i'm not a corporation or anything that has resources, skills or time to develop a solution for that kind of thing especially given the need for reliability and security.

Sorry what do you mean? The sound preview control for the preview sounds? It is only available in the factory browser, if you have the NKS files in the user library NI don’t provide a preview slider for user library for some weird reason.

yeah you either need to just switch to factory library to adjust or if you place the NKS presets in your sounds.com folder they will appear in your factory library with everything else

Updating this thread due to requests. I don't really use Maschine much nor spend much time in the Maschine forum (I am mostly Komplete Kontrol) so if you want the latest news and updates on NKS libraries from Freelancesoundlabs please subscribe to this thread:

    https://www.native-instruments.com/...reset-libraries-for-komplete-maschine.313687/

Below are all the latest NKS libraries available since I last updated this thread copied from the Komplete Kontrol thread above

    Cherry Audio MG-1 Plus
    [IMG]
All controls and presets mapped. Pretty straightforward.

    Cherry Audio Polymode

This has quite a bucket load of parameters which I have mostly mapped with the exception of the mod controls for every parameter. This is possible and I will consider updating this template if there is interest but it would add another 10 pages I reckon so it would really have to be worth it to people, I am not usually interested in the mod side.

    TAL Audio J-8
    [IMG]

This was quite a challenge and took a bit to design a good template. I put the word out about feedback but received no answers so I have done what I feel would be useful. Because there are the 2 layers that make up a sound I decided to group controls together from both layers so for instance adjusting the filter can be done for both layers from one page. Will consider updating this if anyone has any better suggestions.

    TAL Audio Sampler
    [IMG]

This has been on the todo list for some time but due to an issue where samples were stored in the NKS preset as a "hard coded" path it was never possible. The dev has managed to address this issue which should now make this work but please download the test first and ensure it does and report any issue you have. You need to be running the latest version of TAL Sampler 3.3.2 for this to work

This library contains NKS compatibility files for all current keyboard models for Addictive Keys: Electric Grand, Studio Grand, Mark One and Modern Upright. Banks have been created for each piano model and sound previews and library artwork are also included.

All available parameters have been mapped but one thing to note is that keyboard specific parameters cannot be accessed for host automation so cannot be mapped in Komplete Kontrol or even automated in a DAW. Not much that can be done there, XLN Audio are aware of this limitation and I am sure any current users would be too but what is available has been mapped.

WA Production ImPerfect. All presets tagged with full control map, artwork and sound previews

    Loopmasters Bass Master

NKS library contains full controller map covering all available controls with clear labelling (compatible with MK1/MK2 keyboards), detailed sound tagging, previews, artwork etc.

    UVI Augmented Piano
    [IMG]

    UVI Percussion Store
    [IMG]

    UVI Keysuite Bundle
    [IMG]

    Tone2 Icarus2
    [IMG]
Newly updated library now available for Icarus 2. Includes updated Icarus 1 presets with some extra controls added plus the additional Icarus 2 presets. Banks allow browsing between Icarus 1/2 presets so it is easier to see what new presets are included in Icarus 2.

Sonivox Big Bang Universal & Cinematic Percussion
    [IMG]
Both libraries are now NKS available and these libraries include a separate library for the stereo and 16 out versions of the plugin depending on how you like to work with them.

    Sonivox Twist 2
    [IMG]

    Sonivox Wobble 2
    [IMG]

    WA Production Ascension
    [IMG]

    UVI World Suite 2
    [IMG]

UVI released an update version 2 of World Suite which adds a few new instruments but the issue with their release is they decided to completely rename the .ufs library which causes all NKS presets (and past projects in all DAWs) to break unless you rename the .ufs library back to "World Suite" or update your instruments to use World Suite 2.

I was really hoping to be able to easily update the World Suite library to the new version and simply add the updated instruments but UVI encrypt their preset data and it is impossible to do an update to this library so I had to generate all NKS files again from scratch which is massively painful as it is completely manual since every preset is unique in its controls.

This is a newly overhauled library that adds all the content for World Suite 2 and fixes a few small issues I found along the way. This will not work with World Suite 1.

If you have updated to WS2 but don't want to get this library you can just use the existing WS1 NKS files and rename your .ufs library file for Falcon/Workstation to "World Suite", otherwise this version has been developed to work directly with the latest World Suite 2

    Initial Audio 808 Studio
    [IMG]

Initial Audio 808 Studio II is now available for NKS. Includes the usual artwork files, previews and fully tagged and mapped NKS files.

    D16 Drumazon
    [IMG]

    D16 Nephaton

    VI Labs True Keys
    [IMG]
This library includes all 3 piano models (American, German and Italian) with full controller mapping covering all settings. Includes both Workstation and Falcon libraries

    Cherry Audio DCO-106
    [IMG]
NKS library available for the Cherry Audio DCO-106 instrument with the usual image, database, sound previews.
Banks have been created for the included original Juno patch banks for ease of browsing and all presets have had additional hand tagging.

Now Available: UVI Synth Anthology 3
    [IMG]

The latest Synth Anthology 3 now has NKS compatibility.

This is a complete re-encode from scratch because UVI are so "brilliant" at making sure new libraries are in no way compatible with previous library releases and there is simply no way I have found to update the previous files to the newer UFS library release as all the UVI data is encrypted and cannot be read from the NKS file. UVI presets reference the actual UFS filename so when a new version comes out with a different name, the presets need to reference this new library even though everything else is the same.

This means whenever UVI release a new library that changes the USF name, it breaks everything including any DAW projects you use a UVI product in (regardless of using it in KK or not) so if you create a DAW project using Synth Anthology 2 instruments and you update to SA3, you cannot uninstall SA2 even though 100% of that content is in the SA3 update... it will not link the SA3 instruments to the SA2 used in your project... I personally dislike this approach as I have close to 70GB of wasted space for this reason alone or I have to spend days updating every saved preset and project to use the latest UFS version. But enough bitching about how tragic the UVI method of library management is...

This took weeks and countless hours to redo this entire collection from scratch. It was even required to recreate the template file again from scratch including setting all the "host automation" controls within Falcon again. I was able to figure out a rather complex way to extract all the previous tagging I did by hand for SA2 by using an SQL export to save the tag data for each file to a text file then run a process to lookup every file for SA3 and apply the same tagging so that saved me a few weeks of work luckily and I was then able to simply work through the new SA3 presets and tag these by hand so all 3500+ files are fully tagged.

Library supports both Falcon and Workstation and all previews are included along with new artwork.

Note that this library is NOT compatible with SA2 nor is the SA2 NKS library compatible with SA3. As there was a lot of complexity and fiddliness with this library, there may be some issues or omissions so just let me know if you find any issues and I will fix these up asap.

I would suggest to users who have SA2 to keep your UVI UFS library installed for your old projects but delete the Synth Anthology 2 NKS files and replace with the new library so you can switch to using the new library easily in Komplete/Maschine

    Trilian Update for 1.5
    [IMG]
Update for Trilian 1.5 release is now available.

This is a free update, just login to your account and download the latest from the My Download section

Adds additional 200 presets for both Trilian and Omnisphere Trilian library with a "Trilian 1.5" bank so you can check them out easily. Just delete the existing Trilian NKS folder and replace with this. No need to update the image/database files, just presets.

Update is free but donations are always accepted, link in signature.

    New NKS Library: UVI Drone
    [IMG]

NKS Library for UVI Drone is now available for both Falcon and Workstation.

    UVI Toy Suite
    [IMG]

Quite a large library covering the different instruments in this collection. Custom labelled controller maps for the different instrument groups and fully tagged library with sound previews, artwork and database files. Groups have been created for each category. Offers both Falcon and Workstation library versions.

    Cherry Audio CA2600
    [IMG]

Fully tagged library hich was a bit of fun to play with. Actually took quite a while to create a control template as there are so many things to tweak and ordering things was a challenge but should be easy enough to operate, all controls are labelled for ease of use. Includes all sound previews and artwork etc.

    Arturia Analog Lab V
    [IMG]

This was quite a massive task to update. Arturia have created a new PluginID for Analog Lab 5 and also completely overhauled the macro control section which makes it a little easier to use but on first glance, appears to lose many of the functions of AL4. However, the format is still the same and the controls are all there and available for tweaking, just not immediately obvious from the new GUI. Arturia are working on an update already to add some more controls to the GUI but that should not affect the mapping at all.

This is a completely overhauled release processed from scratch which is not compatible with Analog Lab 4 or earlier. Updated banks, updated tagging and new controller maps that cover both the single part presets and multi part presets offering different mappings for the 2 types of workflows.

Library contains all factory presets and free expansions available with bank details and highly detailed tagging converted from the Analog Lab library. The Pigments expansion library has also been updated. If I receive enough interest on other available expansions I may consider them but I personally am not an expansion junkie myself, I seldom purchase additional expansions and feel I have enough diversity in the 7500+ presets that come with AL5

Since I have been working on all 3 of these in parallel and have had to solve a number of challenging issues and do a lot of work on these there may be some issues so if you find anything or feel there needs to be improvements or whatever in a certain area, let me know (with details of what you find so I can investigate)

    Plugin Boutique Carbon Electra
    [IMG]

Fully tagged by hand with detailed tagging, banks, detailed controller map covering all controls logically grouped, previews, artwork etc.

    Plugin Boutique Virtual CZ
    [IMG]

Fully hand tagged and includes a very extensive controller map that covers both the ADSR and MSEG methods of sound design. Since the MSEG is probably more for the hardcore designers it has been placed after the more common controls and results in close to 30 pages of parameters but all tweakable controls should be there to get your hands dirty.

Updating this thread with latest library releases:

Omnisphere Bob Moog Tribute V2 Update
    [IMG]

I figured I would get this done ASAP as I get asked several times a day if/when will update? Answer is it is now available.

This is the updated version which includes the new presets and offers a convenient bank in the NKS browser to select to browse the original V1 presets or the newer V2 presets making it handy to see what is new. All files are tagged with the tagging from Omnisphere and of course previews etc are included.

    UVI Drum Designer
    [IMG]

UVI Drum Designer for both Falcon/Workstation. This includes all the kits as well as each individual kit elements as presets. Also includes a library for single track use and multi-track use in a DAW selectable using the Bank feature. If you really never need one or the other, just delete the appropriate NKS folder from your library to remove from the browser

Falcon Expansions + Falcon 2.5 Update
    [IMG]

The following Falcon expansions are now NKS compatible and will be added as new Banks in your Falcon NKS instrument:
    • LoFi Dreams
    • Savage
    • Hypnotic Dive
    • Inner Dimensions
    • Kinetics
    • Subculture Orchestral
    • Voklm
Each expansion is basically a new instrument so has a custom template. Any experienced UVI user will know that UVI instruments require you to "Enable Host Automation" for every damn control and it's always been a big gripe of mine since sometimes when you change presets, all mappings are lost due to how they map things within the scripting of the instruments.

As with all the UVI instruments I monitor for this kind of issue and manually re-map the parameters and save this so when using NKS this is not an issue and another fine reason NKS is brilliant BUT this work is boooooring and I tend to watch some YouTube docos as I do this so you may find some presets load up and may not be controllable if I wasn't paying enough attention. If you do find them before I do, let me know and I'll fix them up.

Also, An update is available for the UVI Factory Library to add the new presets released in the latest 2.5 update. Just get the latest library, delete the existing factory NKS library for falcon and copy the latest one in place. No need to update image/database files. Rescan your NKS library and the new presets will be found as a new bank called Factory > 2.5

Cherry Audio Eight Voice NKS Library
    [IMG]

Processed and tagged all factory presets. This one has a LOT of parameters available and it took some time to decide how to best try and lay these out so that most of the functional control was on the first pages, but additional tweaks were available on later pages. I think the page count is about 30 which is pretty extreme but I know there are a lot of users out there that really need access to the controls from the hardware so have done my best to cover as much as practical.

There are a few parameters not mapped, mainly mode switches but if you feel something is really needed let me know and I can look at updating the template if it is worth it.

    MusicLab Real Guitar Collection
    [IMG]

I have had RealGuitar for years but always struggled to figure out how to best map the controls and also, how to best create templates for the different modes. Also didn't help that as I started making a template, newer versions of RealGuitar were adding and changing things quite a bit so now that all models are finally at the same V5 level I have managed to painfully finish all of these.

Each of the 5 different VST versions is available with all the single/multi-track versions of the plugins bundled into a single NKS library with banks to select if you need to use a single, layered or multi-track preset in your project. Each of the different modes and model presets have also been saved out so you can instantly load up the way you want to work. Just delete the presets for a specific mode (such as joystick if you do not use a virtual guitar device) to remove them from the browser. Can do this with a right-click within the NKS browser.

Most of the available parameters have been mapped but it should be noted that not all parameters have host automation available so cannot be mapped.

Now Available: Gforce M-Tron Pro + Expansions
    [IMG]
    https://freelancesoundlabs.com/nks/mtronpro

Finally available is Gforce M-Tron Pro NKS library. This contains the main factory library plus the freely available expansion "tapes" from Gforce all made up into convenient banks with full detailed sound tagging, controller map etc...

This took a while to tag as there is limited info to pull so much had to be done by hand. Have tested this on PC and works perfectly but if you are a Mac user, please grab and test the demo first to be sure because I was too lazy to want to test on mac, just assume it will work.

    Sonivox Stratum

    Korg Collection 3
    [IMG]

    https://freelancesoundlabs.com/nks/korgcollection3

This NKS Library is an updated version of the Korg Legacy bundle to now include ALL 11 Korg Collection Instruments. This bundle contains all factory presets and additional Korg expansion banks for all Korg Collection 3 instruments to browse using the Komplete Kontrol or Maschine software and hardware controllers. The following instruments are all included:
    • Arp Odyssey
    • Legacy Cell
    • M1
    • miniKorg
    • MonoPoly
    • MS-20
    • Polysix
    • Prophecy
    • Triton
    • Triton Extreme
    • Wavestation
Presets are fully tagged for quick browsing of sounds within Komplete Kontrol with controls mapped in a logical way. Artwork and database files are also provided for the NKS browser along with sound previews and detailed controller maps for all instruments.

For users who own the Korg Legacy collection there is an upgrade path, just login to see it but of course you can still decide to purchase at full price if you feel it's worth it.

Please note that I have not fully tested this on mac, but shouldn't be any issue there. I do have to also state that in my own usage of the latest Korg Collection instruments I have really not found them as stable as the older legacy versions, especially Wavestation which I have had crash a few times just switching presets and this is not specific to using NKS, it seems it is just crash happy. Also, there is still an issue where the wrong preset name is displayed in some plugins when you load a preset. The correct sound is loaded, just the wrong name is displayed and again, this is not an NKS issue as the same thing happens when I save presets out in Ableton live and reload. It appears to be related to using expansions and this causes the names to not be referenced correct since the presets seem to point to a "slot" in the instrument for the name, rather than reading the stored name in the preset like legacy plugins did. Have tried to explain this to Korg but they just don't seem to understand.

Any issues let me know as I have been plugging away on this for weeks and kind of have tunnel vision from tagging so many damn sounds, just also be aware that Triton and Triton Extreme use very inefficient ways of storing preset data and this causes the NKS library to take up 7GB for each instrument. So for the whole collection you need 15GB of space for the whole NKS library. Insane I know but each preset is 1.2MB of text and nothing I can do to reduce that.

Updated Controller Map for SynthMaster 2

An update for Synthmaster 2 for v2.9.9 is available. This has an updated controller mapping which now places the "Easy" macro controls on page 1 and removes the following controls which have a known issue at the moment when mapped to hardware (Global Voice, Buffer, Quality). It is really not needed to have these adjustable from the keyboard anyway but if KV331 get back to me about a fix I will look at adding them back if anyone really needs them.

There are now many more pages (30 pages) available but SynthMaster2 is rather complex and half-modular in some of the components so not all controls can be mapped. Priority pages have macros, filters, ADSR 1 at the front while more in-depth controls are available on the later pages.

You can download the updated library here:
    https://freelancesoundlabs.com/index.php/component/k2/item/339

To update all you need to do is replace the NKS Preset files you have installed, no need to copy/replace image/database files. After copying the files do a rescan of the NKS library to be sure the latest details are loaded into the database.

    Spectrasonics Omnisphere Sonic Extensions!

    https://freelancesoundlabs.com/nks/sonicextensions

All 4 currently released sonic extension libraries for Omnisphere are now NKS ready.

Firstly, let me say that this was one of the most time consuming and laborious conversions I have done in 6 years to the point I actually complained about the terrible way Spectrasonics approached making these custom controls but to their absolute credit, I had a phone conversation with one of the guys to discuss the issues and he agreed that in some workflows (anyone wishing to map to a MIDI hardware controller.... IE everyone) it could be an issue when switching between presets but their "vision" is that people will find a sound and get into it sonically with the custom controls instead of "preset flipping" so much, that is marketing "BS" I have seen from the promo videos Eric has said, seemingly to cover this kind of complaint especially from users using integrated and supported hardware controllers which also do not have instant mapped access to the custom controls either....

Sonic Expansions are actually great, there are dedicated custom controls for every sound which help to quickly shape things for that sound specifically without any real in-depth synth knowledge. The sounds are the quality you expect from Spectrasonics and it is a lot of fun.... However...

Every preset has different controls but this is not the issue, the issue is that while each preset is different the control ID numbers completely change from one preset to the next.

For instance, every preset has the lower 6 controls (these differ in function) but it would be logical to think that these 6 controls would share the same ID number between presets so switching means if you map a control to LEVEL it will again be mapped to LEVEL (or whatever parameter appears in that position) on the next preset. However in this preset I enable Host Automation, map a control to my controller and it is controlled no problem. Then I change to the next preset:

While the controls change, they are in the same positions but now what was controlling Level is now controlling "Stereo" for the Tail section.

It just does not make sense how they made these and it kind of feels a bit lazy in how it has been done, certainly does not take into consideration anyone that uses any hardware controller.

This means that for anyone trying to even make a simple template or map to MIDI in a DAW will have things completely jump around when switching presets. They also do not offer "Hardware Control" for these because of this issue too.

So needless to say, to make these NKS compatible required every single parameter between every single (1200) presets to be hand mapped from scratch and labelled cleanly. A lot of work but I did manage to make a helper script that could do some work that I was able to script out, but still needed to load and map things by hand mostly.

The benefit of all this work now is that loading a preset using NKS has every parameter mapped and ready to automate so NKS makes this a non-issue and makes these enjoyable to use. There is one small problem when loading an NKS preset, the custom controls screen is not displayed and the "main" screen displays instead. I discussed this with Spectrasonics and showed a video (same thing happens in Live when saving as an instrument rack so not a NKS specific issue) and they have confirmed this as a bug which will be fixed in the next Omnisphere update.

Given the huge amount of work and the hundreds of hours this took it will highly depend on how popular these are for users if future Sonic Expansions will be processed. Hope these prove to be popular and useful as this will definitely guide my decision to tackle any future Sonic Expansions if they develop anything. I have been assured that every effort on Spectrasonics part will go into trying to make the Automation IDs sit in the same positions where possible to avoid the control mapping problem so much.

Also, since a lot of manual work went into these I am sure there will be an issue or missed control here or there so if you find any problem, let me know and I will update as they are found.

Both the free Pendulate and the full version Generate from Newfangled Audio are now available with NKS support.

Both versions have full controller support with all available controls mapped out (except modulation routing) allowing control even over the display of cables and waveform from the hardware. Sound previews and artwork all included, banks for all the artist content and all presets have been painstakingly tagged with detailed attribute tagging.

Please ensure you have updated your versions to 1.3.1 or above for these to load correctly.
